The best thing about living in a city was the crowds, cities weren’t given the title for no reason at all, after all. They made for great places to hide in plain sight! There were so many people, all of them busy, if someone lived there for a century and didn’t age at all, well, not many people would notice. Of course, Ashy hadn’t lived in this particular city for the last century, but she had been there for a little while now. She’d ‘restarted’ by simply moving to another part of the city, applying for a job at another hospital there. No one really noticed her, and so, her not-aging was never really noticed.
The second-best thing about cities were the hospitals. It was so rare it neared impossible that a city of this size would only have one hospital. The more hospitals, the more blood she could get. There were blood drives every so often, it seemed, which meant that the vampire never went hungry. Of course, it was very much needed too considering how many humans were around her daily. She hadn’t had to worry about it in quite a while now.
Today was one of her rare days off. She was working her way up her new residency at the hospital so days like today were rare. She had no work-related things she needed to do, no home or self related things she needed to do, she was fine on her personal stash of blood, and she was even combating her thirst with a recyclable water bottle filled with some. She had absolutely nothing she needed to do.
A smile was wide on Ashy’s face as she walked down the street, not really going anywhere specific besides just ‘around town’. Something would pop out to her at some point, or maybe not, and her long walk would just lead her back to her apartment. Either way, as her feet took her forward, she was completely relaxed.
