Marcel and Adrian had been friends since well before middle school and had always been close despite their varied interests and personalities. They never really seemed like the likely pair but got along just fine regardless and ended up bringing a few more friends into their close knit group. Many nights and weekends throughout grade schools and even college had been spent making bad decisions together and laughing about it the next day. Adrian had been there for him through his multiple injuries growing up and spent an entire summer hanging out with him when he was more or less stuck to a couch because he shattered his leg playing sports. They had all graduated a few years back and while he still made time to see Adrian frequently and talked to him near daily, they were adults. It was different now and more difficult to get together with the different schedules which was why when the opportunity for a weekend in Vegas arose, he didn't hesitate to accept. From what he gathered, there was a group of them going down to celebrate the Adrian and his sister, Ravyn's, birthday.
He hadn't seen more than a glimpse of Ravyn in anything other than pictures in quite awhile. Now that they were adults, everyone had their own lives but he had heard she was doing well. Adrian loved to talk about her and it was sweet. Marcel didn't have siblings. Growing up, it was just his mother and him until Adrian came along and he began to treat the other like a brother. It wasn't long before it became apparent that his presence annoyed Ravyn. So he had made it a goal through highschool and college to ensure that continued just for the thrill of it. Whether it was catching her out on a date and making a smart comment or even just walking past her and ruffling her hair after he knew she was ready to leave, and then sharing a laugh with her brother when she had to stomp back up the stairs to fix it.
Walking into the airport, he lifted his phone and sighed. He was about an hour later than he'd planned. Traffic was something he had always been awful at predicting and of course made him late that day. He passed through the security checkpoints and was ultimately led to the terminal where the plane was departing from. Eyes skimming the crowd, he looked for Adrian or any of the group he was supposed to be with and landed on them quickling. It looked like they were all in line to board the plane. He shifted the bag over his shoulder and approached, eyes landing on the blonde by Adrian. He allowed his eyes only the briefest second to look her over before widening his grin and reaching out as he passed her, ruffling the hair atop her head.
"Hey princess, long time no see" The old nickname rolled smoothly off his tongue and he smiled widely at her for a few seconds before turning his attention to Adrian and pulling the other man into a brief hug, greeting him.
