Yoshi refreshing slow cavalettis
Sham: for me?
bars 23” apart for the first time today. he found it very challenging, but here’s a decent run. once he’s got this down, i’ll raise the bars again.
Finished up my first few cavalettis, just having fun with it and doing each pole a little differently! They’re not perfect, but let’s face it, my horses are just gonna step on them a bunch 😂

ok. so. i posted my last cavaletti video in a canine conditioning group that i really like and they freaked me out bc p much everyone agreed it was way too advanced for a rehabbing pup. my rehab vet prescribed the exercise, but i agreed the height of the bars was too much, and also agreed that if i’m going to do cavalettis at all, i should work on extending his stride first. so i put the bars on the ground and moved them an extra inch apart. you can see that he struggles with it at first, but after a few times, his feet start landing in the center.
i’m still unsure about it all, but we have a telemed appt on saturday. i am going to inquire about doing an ultrasound to really hone in on the injury, and from there i might try getting a second opinion from another rehab vet.
usually i don’t give much weight to advice given over fb but that group in particular is really good and the folks talking to me are canine rehab professionals themselves.
Using cavalettis to help get Tesoro swinging more freely as I encourage him to reach forward and through instead of tucking his chin under!
