Before I shoot, I see in my head how the subject will look in both color and black & white, plan for that (especially for the b&w), and generally know which I think will present better. In this case I was surprised and like them both equally; I think that the b&w is strong and striking (HORSE!) while the color is soft and pleasing (Awwww ... horsie!).
Which do you prefer, and why?
