Cave mers, as the name would suggest, are mers that reside typically in underwater caves. (Though a few rare pods have been discovered in caves by the sea that house ocean water.)
They're commonly sited to have pale, washed out features, and white eyes.
Being able to navigate the vast underwater tunnels as fluidly as they have makes them a dangerous adversary to any predators thinking they'd make an easy meal.
