OK SO BASICALLY
Cave Swallows are birds that nest in caves but live near water. NOW TRY TELLING ME THAT ISN'T PERFECT FOR HIM.
He can still be a pesky bird,, but he's a CAVE GREMLIN AS WELL !!!!
It's perfect and I am so hyped for this season.

so yeah there's like 5 different swallow-adjacent species here lol. barn, cave, and cliff swallows, as well as purple martins and chimney swifts! pretty sure there's also northern rough-winged swallows here too but i don't think i've ever solidly identified one here

the cave swallow is a small member of the martin & swallow family, found from southern portions of the united states to a northern range in south america. they primarily feed on insects caught in flight, as well as drinking by skimming the surface of ponds and lakes; their tiny legs and feet render them practically incapable of doing much activity on the ground. these social birds often live in large flocks, sometimes mixed-species flocks with barn swallows. they often hunt in small groups, and prefer to be with other birds almost constantly.
