digging through the pantry left her dissatisfied with her choices. where were her chips? the salsa she had bought the other day? had one of her housemates eaten her groceries? she pulled her head out of the pantry and looked toward the family room. she was pretty sure she had heard one of them in there earlier. it’d be odd to say something, considering she hadn’t really warmed up to the people she was living with yet and mostly stuck to her room, but she figured there was no avoiding it any longer. ❝ Yo? ❞ chloe called, voice unsure if she was even talking to anyone at all, or if someone had just left the TV on.

his head rested a touch on the side, eyes behind thick shades observing the profile in neon orange of the sprite as he approached the tall roof where he himself was chilling ━resting with his legs dangling on the edge as he sat, a cigarette drawing smoke on the pitch night while down there, to the ground, the city still seemed to easily frolic with activity despite the dying hours. 

he took his time, dragging a long puff from the cigarette itself, observing the many spirals drawing off his mouth. “ i wasn’t expecting you to actually come. ” a small shrug of his shoulders. it felt weird, to suddenly feel that sense of responsibility he felt like he’s been running away from past life after past life, timeline after timeline. “ but i wanted to check on you. ”

  Wow! You couldn’t believe it, first you’d finally ran into another troll here and now you’d found one of the humans you actually recognized! Maybe being stranded here in this weird place wouldn’t be so bad after all! Especially if you had friends around! Although, this version of Dave seemed to have prototyped himself with a bird.
