It’s PANIC. It’s WAR. It’s HELL. Neither girl would ever be able to FULLY GRASP how they ended up here. Even IF they were granted an eternity to HYPERANALYZE. Delilah would have blamed GOD. Helena would have blamed HERSELF. But maybe it was just FATE. Maybe it was just ANOTHER DEAD HAND cruelly dealt by the TORTURE they both called LIFE. They had finally found some level of PEACE in each other -- WITH EACH OTHER. And the Earth rebelled. It’s NOT ENOUGH. It would NEVER been enough. One moment of PEACE & TOGETHERNESS. Not for Helena. Because to Helena, Delilah deserves BETTER. Delilah deserves a LONG and HAPPY life of the UTMOST FULFILMENT. Delilah meanwhile is almost HAPPY. Almost HOPEFUL. Cause for the BRIEFEST OF MOMENTS it feels like a MIRACLE. It feels like GOD has passed judgment. The truck is headed for her. It’s too fast. And its honking its horn in FATAL WARNING. And as if by an inch, Helena tackles her to the asphalt. And the world is SLOWING DOWN as the truck speeds on by. And Delilah can feel the GALE FORCE BREEZE as it whips up wind against herself and her sister. And she thinks. Maybe. JUST MAYBE. These are the winds of CHANGE.
But the sound of the WIND. The sound of the HORN. The sound of the TRUCK. Seem to simply be FATE’S MASK. One last CRUEL JOKE. Cause now Helena and Delilah are TOGETHER. And they can’t hear the OTHER CAR. The one hurtling down the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. At speeds it SHOULDN’T BE. And as the car HITS, Delilah can’t help but feel like she’s WRONG. Cause even if they had HEARD the car there was NEVER going to be a SINGLE THING either girl could do. And she’s SCREAMING now. And so is HELENA. And she’s clinging back JUST AS PROTECTIVELY. And it HURTS. And she can’t HELP but think of GOD even now. Is this His WRATH? Has He finally PASSED JUDGMENT? Or is this a TEST? One final trial of FAITH? She thinks for a second that maybe it’s PURGATORY? But that feels WRONG. Like that’s NOT what either God or the Devil want her to THINK that this is. And maybe that’s just YET ANOTHER of their CRUEL FINAL JOKES. But if so she REFUSES to partake. And so in her final MOMENTS. And with her final BREATH. Before the light FADES. And the DARKNESS creeps on in. She prays. She prays to GOD and everything she has FORSAKEN that He will smile upon them. Smile upon HERSELF & HELENA. Prays that she was RIGHT ALL ALONG. That those WERE the winds of change. And that God HAS passed judgment. And that that Judgment is not DEATH but MERCY. And that there will come a time once more where they...
