"Mike! What do you mean you've never been rollerskating?!"
"I mean I've never been, Y/n." Michael said sarcastically Sure, he knew about skating, he grew up in the 80s. But he had a..difficult childhood. He didn't have a lot of friends after the incident.
You paused and pursed your lips, making Michael smirk.
"You, me, the rink this Saturday." You said assertively.
Michael returned with a stern look, you resorted to doe eyes.
"Fine but you're teaching me." He couldn't resist.
You reached up and grabbed Micheal by his collar, pulling him down to your height. You pecked his cheek with an exaggerated 'mwah' sound.
The brunette's face heated and relaxed into a soft smile.
You were so sweet to Michael. How did I get so lucky? Michael thought, but little did he know, you were thinking the same thing.
Tranquility rested in the air for a moment before Michael thought back to what he has to face tonight. He hated leaving you, he often fantasized about the thought himself finally being able to put the souls rightfully to rest, and being able to live normally with you. Or even somehow getting a normal job.
To drift to sleep and wake up next to you felt like a privilege. It felt like a dream to him.
"Get some sleep, my love." Michael said, placing a soft kiss on your forehead before going to Freddy's.
---
Saturday rolled around and Michael drove you two to a nearby skating rink. The skating rink felt like it never left the fad of the 80s. With the patterned carpets and the colorful lights, it reminded Michael of the old familiar arcades. The same feelings where he was supposed to watch his sister and was supposed to be a good brother to his youn-
You gave a gentle squeeze on Michael's hand, grounding him from his worries. You gave him a worrisome look and gave a reassuring smile, assuring him that he was there with you, not in the past. Michael gave a squeeze back and gave a weak smile.
"Let's get some skates!" You exclaimed, dragging Michael by the hand.
When you finished lacing up your skates, you saw Michael was still struggling to tie his. You giggled a little and grabbed his hands. Michael looked sheepish. You keeled down to fasten the laces tightly. He didn't deserve this treatment, he didn't deserve you.
"There you go!" You said, tying a pretty bow.
Michael gave a small smile. Your happiness often infected Michael.
You leaned your hand to help Mike get up, and he gladly took it.
Even with your support and the wall next to him, Michael seemed more worried about you falling than him. And his nervousness certainly didn't help him skate.
His legs made jerking movements, and he struggled to glide like you.
"It's okay Michael, just relax." And he did just that, he loosened his iron grip on your hand and tried to drift into the music and your voice. He didn't even realize he wasn't even holding onto you until your excitement popped his concentration bubble.
"You got it, Mikey!" You cheered.
Suddenly, you got bumped into by a little kid, sending you falling over Michael.
You gave a slight squeal as Michael attempted to catch you. Michael hit the hard floor, while you landed on something soft. You both groaned from impact. You lifted your head and realized your position. You had fallen on top of Michael! You squeaked from the surprise and your face resembled a tomato. Michael was still regaining composure. You tried to get up before Michael could see the position you were in but ended up straddling him. This position made you even more embarrassed (if that was even possible).
"Are you ok, Y/n?" Michael asked groggily.
When he heard no reply, he began to panic.
"Y/n?"
There you were, you straddled his lap with your hands on his chest to stabilize yourself. Michael's face began to heat up. Sure, you were a couple, but you never..ended up being too intimate. Michael was busy with his job and it took a lot out of him. Plus, Michael took forever building up the nerve to even ask you out in the first place.
"I'm- I'm sorry Michael..I didn't mean-" Your eyes pricked with tears, you just wanted Michael to have a good time and you felt as if you had ruined it.
He grabbed your hands and held them.
"Hey, hey. It's okay, isn't that what you told me?"
Michael's eyes were soft and his mouth formed into a smile.
You let out a breath and returned the smile.
"You're right, Mike."
Once you were off of Michael, you helped him up.
Michael seemed more relaxed after the fall. The both of you skated with your hands intertwined until your feet felt like they could fall off.
"God, I think Freddy's ruined pizza for me." Michael said, looking at some displayed pizza at the snack bar. You laughed at his comment and you ended up splitting a large pretzel. You pared the snack with your f/d (favorite drink) and Michael got a Coke. You both sat down at a booth, watching the other skaters fall and skate by.
A boy and his mother approached your table.
"C'mon, Jimmy." The mother nudged with a stern expression.
"I'm sorry for making you fall, (missus, sir, mx)" The child dipped his head in shame and hid behind his mother's leg. It was the kid that bumped into you!
"Don't worry about it. It looks like you skate better than me!" Your attitude and your laughter was contagious and the kid gave a toothy smile.
"Now, let's get those skates off bud." The mother walked away with her kid.
Michael found it sweet of how good you are with kids. More importantly, he thought Evan and Elizabeth would have loved you. The thought of you having tea parties with Elizabeth and watching TV with Evan or comforting him when he cried, makes Michael's heart swell.
"Penny for your thoughts?"
He was caught zoning out.
"Just thinking about how lucky I got.."
