hi! so someone on patreon asked if I could share the patterns from my pick-n-mix dress, which I've kept meaning to do but kept forgetting lmao, so here I am! These are actually from my ~professional~ surface design portfolio from when I was like, actively pursing that career instead of what I do (and love) now, and are all hand painted by yours truly; a mix of watercolour, inks, gouache, and stamping techniques. A variety of themes including ocean, woodland creatures, florals, summer, etc - with 40 total patterns
Please feel free to use these for any and all CC making as long as the cc is free for everyone (no paywalling, including early access)
details and download below!
details
PNGs and photoshop pattern files
A selection of my hand painted patterns, created using watercolour, gouache, and ink
40 total patterns
Contains 'hero' (main) patterns and matching coordinate patterns for your matchy-match needs
may be larger file sizes than normal given these are from my professional art portfolio and thus made at a higher res than ones created solely for my silly little pixel clothes
i would LOVE to see people make cc with these patterns, just as long as the content is free and accessible to everyone (no paywalling including early access)
download: SFS / patreon (both 100% free to everyone, always)
aaaaaaaaaaand i think that's it. hope you enjoy, and if you do make anything, pls tag me (not out of credit just because i am nosey and want to see lmao)
While embarking on my Nintendo DS object set, I found and used these cool websites with high quality images for these meshes. Here goes:
VIDEO GAMES/TECH CC
MobyGames - Contains scans of physical media - the box spine, front and back cover, the discs, even the cartridge. It even has scans for different regions too! Used this site for the upcoming DS set.
GameFaqs - Not only a site for game cheats and tutorials, it has scans of boxes for games and their consoles. Even Windows OS install boxes (which is on my list of objects i want for my game). Link takes you to The Sims box scans, but you just gotta go into the Media tab and click boxes to find the scans of whatever you need :)
DeviantArt - I used an example in the link of Nintendo Templates. These are user-created templates to make your own box arts or whatever. Super useful (and use with credits)
LaunchBox - Kinda similar to MobyGames
MUSIC AND POSTER CC
Discogs - I used this site for my CDs/Records CCs. Very high quality scans and overall easy to use. Plus, different regions and designs.
CineMaterial - Site with movie poster scans, even from different regions. Downside is you can only like... screenshot them cuz they want you to pay ;-;
The Movie Database - After editing just a second ago to add CineMaterial I found this one too. Also has posters! Basically the same without paying and watermarks.
Other sites used include Google Imgs, Pinterest and even Ebay. Hope this was useful :D Always check this original post rather than a reblog as I'm editing it a lot as I find things.
Hello everyone this is just a MASTER LIST of PALETTES & RESOURCES I use for anyone curious about how I recolour CC or anyone looking to get into recolouring CC themselves. List will be updated if anything new comes up!
More below!
Main Programs I use for recolouring hair :
Adobe Photoshop — For the actual editing of textures
S4Studio — For the extracting of hair textures & importing the edited textures
Blender — Not necessary at all for the standard recoloring stuff but if you want to do more complex things (like individually recolouring accessories where you need to separate it from a hair mesh) it is needed.
When it comes to selecting a base I use the swatch the palette creator states is best to use, but outside of that I normally just use the 'Dirty Blonde' texture (Swatch #13) since its basically a universal base.
I may also use the 'White' texture (Swatch #15) or the 'Gray' texture (Swatch #17). All 3 are highlighted below.
For non-hair textures like clothes I also just use any white/grey texture. In the case there is no white/grey texture I will pick the lightest swatch or manually edit the texture.
You can use any art or photo editing program to do recolors outside just Photoshop.
I made the white-grey texture on the right by doing nothing more than messing around with the settings of the default Windows photo editor.
Main palettes I use :
Cakemix — by Plushymoth
Eezoshot — by chimaerae | Reuploaded by quarterkrogan
Poodles — by Feralpoodles
PuppyCrow 1.0 & PuppyCrow 2.0 — by Simandy
Modmax — by Qwertysims
Momo Palette — by s4simomo
Sweetened Saccharine — by pastry-box
Saccharine Pop! and 8Bitto Pop!— by wistellisims
Kaleidoscope — by aveirasims
Byrdie. — by honeycuts
I mostly gravitate towards the Cakemix & Eezoshot palettes as they have the most colours (over 100+ lol) but I also do other palettes if I feel like it or if requested.
Miscellaneous resources I use or are useful :
Velvet Texture tutorial — by faeish
Maxis Actions & Gradients — by aveirasims
EAXIS Actions — by Simandy

Do note that I may sometimes personally go in and tweak some gradients for base textures that I feel need it.
Tutorials / Resources that saved my damn life :

About my blog :
I upload my CC to SimsFileShare/SFS. I do not put any of my CC behind ads or paywalls. Links I share to my recolours on this blog are direct & I do not monetize off any creator's work. If you had to go through an ad/timer/paywall to access my CC it is not me.
Unless stated otherwise all my CC recolours require the original meshes to work. I link to the original meshes in my posts but in the case the download is unavailable or a creator is no longer active I will redirect to any archives of that CC or reupload it myself.
I try to make sure I recolour CC of creators that don't mind it. However, if there is a case of a creator wanting recolours/reuploads of their CC taken down please let me know.
Simblreen gifts I'm posting now before I forget again:
Floral Seamless Patterns!
A set of 21 floral patterns: the three shown above with different background colors (the middle one has two slightly different versions). PNG files so you can use them with any software you want!
Use to make CC or for whatever you want!
The assets come from flaticon (I think).
Download: SFS
Voidcritters Seamless Patterns!
Patterns! There is 40 of them, with 10 different voidcritters and different background colors! Not all the critters are there though, because I thought 40 patterns was enough... So I'm open to making a part two!
