I saw another post that briefly mentioned this on here and now I need to go off on a rant.
The life series and Hermitcraft fandom sphere need to quit whitewashing Bdubs YESTERDAY
Cause like, I feel like so many areas of this fandom pride themselves on being accepting and "representation!" and all that junk, then go and make Bdubs FUCKING WHITE
I've seen so many otherwise perfectly respectable artists do this, some even fixed it when prompted. The main problem though? NO ONE EVER POINTS IT OUT
On only two occasions have I seen artists actually be called out for this, one of which WAS DOING IT ON PURPOSE FOR AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE (WHICH IS LIKE??? Ignoring how kind of weird that sort of joke is in the first place, WHAT DO YOU MEAN we as a fandom can only recognize this horrible thing WHEN ITS FULLY INTENTIONAL)
The only answer I can think of is that people don't want to sound like they're accusing the artist of being racist or something, but like... You can kindly criticize someone?? Without doing that???
I don't know, I just feel like this is way too common of a thing that never gets called out. It especially upsets me as someone with a very similar skin tone to Bdubs. Dark but on the "lighter" side. It meant so much to me to see a creator with my same skin tone when I first got into this fandom, so to see that erased like it's nothing and go completely unaddressed hurts so much more.
Do I actually think this random ask is gonna change anything? Hell no but at least I finally said it somewhere. Shouting into the void and all that

This probably got a bit ranty and incomprehensible at some bits but who cares. Just don't whitewash. When in doubt, literally just color pick from the skin. It isn't hard.
