no, he is simply trying to regulate his breathing in order to think more rationally about the situation. no, he is also not close to tears as he stands dumbly in the middle of the park on sunday afternoon where pets and people are scattered alike and he cannot find his children (read as: cats). and really, no he is not about to crumple into a heap on the grass because of his frustration.
jaebum is merely worried. yes, that’s what it is...he’s simply...worried.
he takes a deep breath to calm himself; gaze sweeping over the entire park to scout for any sign of his three precious kittens. it’s hard to focus with all the colors around him and the afternoon sun’s rays above him so it takes a trained cat daddy eye to make out the pristine white ball of fur that is his cat rolling around with...someone else?
confused and mildly jealous, jaebum jogs over to the teenager laying down on the mat with all three of his kids. “uhm...excuse me?” he calls out. “but who are you and why are you with my cats?”

“I’m telling you, when I first heard this poem, I thought what the f--...uh, I thought, what is this?” Ji Hyo explained as she took a seat next to the younger boy and laid the poem out in front of him.
“It’s called, anyone lived in a pretty how town by E. E. Cummings, have you heard of him?” she asked, wondering if the boy was familiar with poetry at all. Ji Hyo wasn’t even sure why she was suddenly sharing this with the boy, since she was sure there wasn’t complete and total trust between them but perhaps to the older girl, she thought a simple topic like this would somehow soften things between them.
She was still curious about the boy’s odd existence, and she still had many questions that needed to be answered.
“Here, I’ll read it to you,” she offered, pulling the poem closer to herself as she cleared her throat and began to read.
“anyone lived in a pretty how town(with up so floating many bells down)spring summer autumn winterhe sang his didn’t he danced his did.Women and men(both little and small)cared for anyone not at allthey sowed their isn’t they reaped their samesun moon stars rainchildren guessed(but only a fewand down they forgot as up they grewautumn winter spring summer)that noone loved him more by morewhen by now and tree by leafshe laughed his joy she cried his griefbird by snow and stir by stillanyone’s any was all to hersomeones married their everyoneslaughed their cryings and did their dance(sleep wake hope and then)theysaid their nevers they slept their dreamstars rain sun moon(and only the snow can begin to explainhow children are apt to forget to rememberwith up so floating many bells down)one day anyone died i guess(and noone stooped to kiss his face)busy folk buried them side by sidelittle by little and was by wasall by all and deep by deepand more by more they dream their sleepnoone and anyone earth by aprilwish by spirit and if by yes.Women and men(both dong and ding)summer autumn winter springreaped their sowing and went their camesun moon stars rain”
As she finished reciting the poem, she looked at the boy, curious as to what his reaction would be. Would it be similar to her own? Would he have liked it? Would he absolutely hate it?
“What do you think, Dongmin-ah? Is it to your liking?”
defend — write a drabble of my character protecting yours.
it’s a difficult situation and an unfortunate one at that. the fact that such an advanced monster is trying the special class heroes makes ricky tired. but the fact that a defenseless human was also in the scene just seemed to make their job harder. they usually didn’t get human witnesses whenever they carried out missions, but this seemed to be a wonderful day for them.
he hears another hero instruct the human boy to run or hide and he was about to do so, but it seemed as if the monster had finally paid attention to him. panicked, ricky acted impulsively by running after the boy, grabbing him and trying to quickly run off to somewhere.
he hears the other boy thank him, but ricky shoves it off. “it’s my job,” he answers quickly as he watches the other heroes fight it off without him. looking as how the monster is about to be fended off, he decides that he’ll quickly go back once he finishes telling the human what to do.
“run away. now. go far away or i will kick you to fucking mars to keep you safe.”
It was a morning like any other as Ji Hyo clocked in for another shift at the station. She went in with her usual cheerful and bright attitude but it quickly disappeared when she was given more paperwork to do, a.k.a the work no one else wanted to do and put on her.
With a grumble and sigh, she took a seat at her desk and began sorting through the files and paperwork, avoiding conversations partially so that the work would finish quickly and partially because she was sure she would snap at someone who tried to make conversation with her.
A few hours passed by before Ji Hyo finally managed to finish the work and she yawned, stretching her sore limbs from staying in the same position for so long and decided to go and treat herself to a break.
Besides, her ass was sore from sitting in the chair for so long so she was sure moving about would be good. She let the lady at the front desk know of her whereabouts before leaving the station.
Her mind went through the possibilities of what to eat and do during her break, but her attention quickly fell on a boy who seemed rather lost. She watched him for a moment, watching the expression on his face and there was something about him that drew Ji Hyo to him without realizing she was doing so.
Eventually, she stood before him.
“Hey there,” she greeted the boy, offering a smile and wave. “Are you alright? You seem like something’s on your mind. Anything I can help with?”
