throughout his two years (six if you count first timeline’s events) of being a hero, ricky’s met plenty of difficult cards with the league. some, he’s met as a rookie and most of them, he’s met as a special class hero. he remembers back then, he would be able to get more than one card and trade with some others but now the only card he had was soonshim, the canidae card as.... his pet dog.
so, yeah. he’s dealt with some heroes that looked and were hard to catch. the earth card was one of them. he thought that it- he would be easy to catch if cards were in their weakened state, but even if so, this task was a bit to difficult for him. was he just becoming a worser hero after facing the events of the apocalypse? or was his skills just becoming more bad because he hasn’t been training enough?
he really should spend his moping and feeling bad for myself time for something more useful more often. lord, he couldn’t be more of a disappointment to the team just because of the fact that he’s too busy grieving over the people that are living today. he needs to replace sulking time with training time.
speaking of training time, he was actually making his way to the clamp cafe to get to headquarters. with the thought of getting a drink and a dessert from the cafe in his hands, he isn’t that aware of his surroundings as he passes by a familiar figure who has the resemblance of named card.
it doesn’t him until he’s two minutes away from the cafe. he stops in his tracks, turns back, and sees the card still making his way downtown, walking in a fast pace as he lets faces pass him.
ricky was not gonna let him be homebound and he was so sure of it that he finds his feet moving and pretty soon, he’s running after the earth card.
