Paul walked over to Lea while Gio was chatting with the brothers. Lea was a sophomore and Paul was a junior. He had always been one to pick on Lea, every time he got the chance. At first he wold just do the typical name-calling but as of recently it had been getting worse. Lea couldn’t believe he actually would go p to her while her brother was there to bully her.

“Hey, hamster. Why aren’t you cleaning up the diner? It’s fucking shitty in there, and that’s because of you. I’m sure your mom regrets having such a dumbass of a child like you.”

Lea chose to ignore him and his harsh words, she didn’t want her brother to see her upset.

Cartence City, Rosie’s Diner: 1.2

Besides Gio and Lea, there was one more worker. She has been working at the diner for 8 years now with no sign of her leaving anytime soon. Angelina had a strong, bitter personality. It always has to be her way, no questions asked. She was living on the streets eating off of food from the trash cans before she started working at the diner where Rosie had given her the opportunity to start over again in life. Although she may be dry and empty on the inside, she will forever be loyal and loving towards Rosie and her two children.

A young coupe entered the diner, and it was obvious they were deep in love. Angelina was helping out one of her roommates and also a frequent customer when she glanced over at the couple. “They’re disgusting. I mean, honestly! Why are they going to come out here and not even order anything yet but they can start making out! I just don’t understand how people can be so deep in love, it’s stupid.”

Her friend quickly took a look to see the couple. She has always dreamed of being in love like that, she envied them. “Oh god they’re so perfect, I’m jealous! I can’t believe I still haven’t found my prince charming. Don’t be so bitter! Don’t you want to be in love like that one day? We’re not getting any younger, you know!”

Cartence City, Rosie’s Diner: 1.1

It’s was a warm Saturday afternoon at Rosie’s Diner. They weren’t extremely busy, but they did have their regular clients come in. Lea and Gio were sitting at a booth inside waiting for their mother to tell them what to do. Their mother has had this diner way before her two kids were even born. She was busy taking orders while the siblings were talking.

Gio could feel Lea being distant again. They’ve been here before, and he’s not happy about what’s about to happen. He knows something is wrong, she just isn’t telling anyone about it.

“Lea I know there’s something bothering you. Is it the guys again with their bullying? You can tell me, don’t be scared.”

She ignored what her brother told her. She wanted to pretend like nothing was wrong, but it was past that point by now. She had been bullied her whole life, and it got to a point where she just got used to it. This time it was different, it actually hurt her when they bullied her. She wasn’t quite sure why it hurt so much, especially since she’s heard worse before. Could it be because of the people that were doing it? Did that change the way she felt towards them? She couldn’t hep but wonder why they had chosen to pick on her, always her.

Several minutes have passed by and Lea was still not responding to her brother’s question. Lea and Gio are only two years apart, so they always were able to get along very easily. Gio was starting to get frustrated with Lea. The only reason as to why he was even asking her in the first place was because he worried a lot about her, even more so after what she has been through her life. “Lea, don’t ignore me. Is it the same guys?”

Her eyes started watering up as their voices kept replaying in her head over and over again. She couldn’t hold it in any longer, she had to tell someone. But she never gathered the strength to do it. “Uh, no. Everything’s ok, don’t worry.” Shortly after she got up from the booth and went outside.
