major "I convince you at this line since you can't think right to understand censorship is bad" talk pieces to send to reps and companies. despite them clearly not caring about you they do got to pretend they do and post pone their actions
ID verification would spike identity theft and fraud. People will obviously try to get not actual IDs to past verification and remain free. They won't get caught unless too many use the same ID or if they do something the gov considers heinous which in this day may even be something mundane like government criticism.
These laws remove responsibility to parents and companies to protect children. They can now point to the law and say its not in their hands anymore but truly the government can't just magically spawn* (asterisk) out of nowhere and tell little Jimmy to brush his teeth. Parents are still required to do their job and care for their kids as companies will always need to catch people who dodge the rules to get it with children which always exist. Companies especially may put less effort into child safety because it means less money spent. KOSA and SCREEN will harm child safety, not protect it.
NSFW content isn't leaving the internet and it will find new ways to move around. Many people mention the abolition era where people opened speakeasies and made moonshine in their tubs. People also mentioned more entering the dark web, something made for situations like this anyways. The main point? People, including horny teenagers, will just find another sneakier way to access NSFW content. This actually makes the "oh so pure fight against nasty content" Absolutely worse as people will be hiding it more. A teen wouldn't want to humiliate themselves by tying their ID to seeing porn, but they sure will FIND A WAY TO DO IT. This way might genuinely put them in danger of preds and groomers. It could also turn the consumption of the content into trade as people may need to access personal stashes of this content.
That's all I have so far. I had a list of US bills regarding censorship but I haven't finished it yet.
Your ID bill is the SCREEN act in both of the Legislative branch. The remaining bills either add more to COPPA and make it worse, one defines obscenity in a open to interpretation way, and the two warring in privacy.
Feel free to add more or critique the talk points. If these have issues or can become better then they should.
I love them

putting it all in one post.
CHECK every avenue. Check amendments, budget plans, everything. They try to pass it no matter what.
Note: I'm aware some of these bills have already passed for years. While they are undoable that is not my focus. Some of these passed in revisions. Some of these I wasn't even aware of like in Georgia. Its not just general Bills they do this in, its pretty much any avenue they can. While it may start with IDs for NSFW content - which is already terrible - it is clear that it is a pathway for general access to websites.
you can do a funny gag about rainwings lying about how they feel but not with their scales and everyone who isn't a rainwing just gets misconceptions about what each color means
"im not mad" says the bright red and black rainwing
"lol I'm laughing I'm dying" straight up blue. no yellow. not even green.
the worst one: "im proud of you" no purple no yellow just gray and blue
Minorities can be Racist too (and why indie creator status doesn't excuse you from consequences)
Internalized racism is when a minority takes up racist ideology of their own race. There is also internalized bigotry which includes internalized racism and many other categories.
If there can be internalized bigotry, then why can't another minority not of the offended race be racist? What does economic status have to do with facing consequences of being a racist? Nothing. These are only amplifiers to what is recieved, however it does not erase accountability.
Saying that Gooseworx shouldn't be a target of accountability because there's more privileged targets shows why these people do need to be held accountable. Racism by anyone regardless of privilege should be comdened and if its not it will be normalized. Gooseworx has never made an apology so far and appears to never will make one as she is taking too long for the incident of this severity. If we let her go free without consequences, then whats to say that other white minorities won't jump on the banwagon and openly be racists too? After all, there will be a group of people who will scrap the barrel for any discriminator to protect them.
Did you know that many acts of racial violence wasn't by politicians but by everyday people? Lynchings were frequently held by townspeople. Not all politicians or those in power, but everday people. Did you know that most racial riots were by the people. Tulsa was incited by white business men sure, but poor white people benefited from Black towns as they were cheaper. No, instead they chose to grab at their white privilege and burn our towns. Did you know that when the once conservative Democratic Party eventually fell to Black demand, all those people just jumped to the now conservative Republican party? But we got the politicians! Why did our problems not go away? Why is there still a party with the same racist rhetoric as we endured before? Surely only getting the politicians worked? Right?
People are a part of the equation. You can't just only get the politicians because the people will just move. That's if you even have enough people. Did you know that the NAACP was founded by white people. Some Black people held positions but the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was primarily made through white hands.
In white dominated countries, we needed white participation to fight for rights. This means educating and holding racists accountable. If we only fight politicians, we will never win. If we only fight the people, we will never win. Movements for equality is multi-frontier and multi-class and recognising that alone is the most important part for one to succeed.
So no, Gooseworx being a trans woman and an indie creator shouldn't excuse her from accountability at all. The idea that you should focus on political opponents instead of small creators also cuts out every person fighting politicians right now. Its a statement that can only exist if no Black person was fighting for justice and that is a lie. Currently in the US VRA of 1965 was weakened and Black lawyers are being shoved out of white courts trying to fight racial gerrymandering. There are movements everywhere in the South especially. Work is already being done against politicians and one small content creator shouldn't somehow all the sudden stop that work from existing. All civil rights movements needed to change the majority group to be able to tackle the higher power.
I will be able to easily tell if you haven't read this entire post and commented early out of spite because your snap or question likely would be answered. So please read this post before you say anything. To comment on this situation, you need to be educated. It is that serious. Also, no proper actual fully appropiate and well made apology has been made by any perpetrator. These apologise need to: address specifically the Black community by name, explain why jumping around the n slur is bad as well as other incidents of racism carefully and separately, discourage viewers to white knight, and state any way of rectifying their actions. It is not that hard. If you didn't want to put in the work, don't do it in the first place.
The deadliest thing to the fight for justice, is when a white minority gets away with racism. This creates more classes, where white minorities will grab onto their Whiteness at all cost despite being damaged and disarmed by white societies. As I've said before, this is what channels riots and lynchings the most. This also hurts the white racist minority more than it would if they helped racial minorities. Do not support the further destruction these people inflict on theirselves when they can fight for something better for their lives.
Racism is made for white privileged rich men. Not the poor. Not the margnalized. Rich benefit. Most white people do not actually benefit from racism in the long run. If racial minorities somehow were eliminated, non-rich white people become the next class to pick apart until white rich men remain if not with one more class for labor. Either they can dig themself a bigger hole or join the hill for a future where people like them won't be hurt anymore. Unfortunately, what do most of them pick?
