You’re Not Worth My Time.
“Well, well... If it isn’t little Alana Roster?! I’m surprised to see you here!” Evan cheered as he ran up to Alana. “I knew the Military was sending some of their soldiers our way for special training... I never thought you’d be part of their selections.” “Awe, come on! No “Hey Evan! Its great to see you!”? I thought you’d be happy to see a friendly familiar face!” “You may be familiar, but the last I remember, you are not friendly. In fact, you’re being quite disrespectful considering my position in this organization. As I did not greet you casually, you do not have permission to address me in such a manor.” “What do you mean?”
As they were talking, a group of young Military recruits walked up to them. “Gentlemen.” Alana greeted as she slightly bowed her head to the boys. “Lady Melody. Its an honor, nay, a privilege to be in your presence.” “Ma’am, it is a great pleasure to meet you.” “Pardon my lack of discretion, but I can’t believe we’re standing before the great Grim Reaper!” “Evan! Where are your manners! How have you not bowed yet?! Don’t you know she’s Azrael’s protege! One of the Patron Saints of Lost Children! Show your respect!” The boys babbled ass they all bowed. “That, Evan, is what I meant by you being disrespectful.” Evan looked at her, bewilderment filled his eyes. “But, no, you’re Alana... You’re friends with my little brothers. Your sister is dating my best friend!” “That is all true. But since our last encounter, I have become this.” She turned to the recruits. “It’s lovely to meet you all. Now, please, be on your way.” “Yes Ma’am!” They all saluted and walked off.
“So? The rumors of your singularity are true then.” “Excuse me?” “I got word that you and Nathaniel broke up. And with that rumor about the Grim Reaper breaking her own heart, that only confirms that you’re single.” Evan’s bewilderment had quickly turned into keen interest. “Even if I was looking for a lover, you would never be worthy.” “Why not? I’m not part of the RDR, so it wouldn’t be inappropriate. I know you as Alana Roster, so its not like I’d ever hurt you... Unless you want me to. And, I’m trained to fight, so I can protect myself.” Alana looked at Evan. The desire to kick his ass, put him in his place and prove to him that she still belonged to Nathaniel attempted to overwhelm her. She wanted to tear him down so many pegs and prove to him that she will never allow him into her bed... Instead, what she did was much more simplistic, and almost as destructive. Her eyes, already cold, turned icy; her mouth remained straight.
“You’ve wasted enough of my time. You’re not worth any more of it.”
