god. i LOVE how easily ronan and hennessy see through each other. like. ronan doesn’t try so hard to be this opaque thing anymore — he offers his most vulnerable and deadly secret right up front upon meeting her and the girls — and he knows hennessy’s cards Right Away because they’re. his cards. from like 4 books ago. hopeless helpless resigned to death by dream, hanging in there out of stubbornness but with no actual conviction. the fact that they both found their parents dead and knew the same fate awaited them. the fact that they were both ready to let it happen until another dreamer came along and showed them what was possible and what mattered.
