sts rareship fest: otp + colors
I’m doing these now for Syd and Lyfia! :x I couldn’t resist, I want to share some thoughts <3 AMBER | How I began to ship it (Were you introduced to this pairing or you’re the one who came up with it? What struck you about these characters together? Was it a sudden revelation or a slow burn to you?) This is weird, but the THOUGHT of them together started with a dream I had. Yes, a friggin’ dream. And it made sense. Until then, I never thought of it, I was just falling pretty hard for Lyfia, she just died and I was crushed. I never shipped anyone seriously with Syd, too. I love his character since 96-97, and I’ve seen many many pairings with him, but none stick for me as “askdjakldj, he found his other half”. Then I dream of them together (she was working for his family and they were secretive about their relationship for some reason), and my first thought was “ok, this was one wild trip I just had”, but it didn’t stop. I told friends about it (mainly @cherryvane) and I got the conclusion there was no coming back. (When Lyfia came back as Odin, the “Odin approves” jokes started xD) AMETHYST | Three reasons I love it - I’m a sucker for romantic tropes like Lady and Knight, God x their protector (my very first ship ever has this in SPADES). - They would be super cute and fluffy with each other (bury myself in cute pairings, pls) - They would be super respectful with each other, their beliefs are basically the same, this puts them in an more equal ground, despite her being Odin’s choosen vessel and temporary representant in Hilda’s place when the latter needs her help; Lyfia doesn’t see herself as above anyone in Asgard just because of that. APRICOT | Three things they like about each other - Lyfia admires how Syd is devoted to Odin and Asgard - which inspires her - she loves how gentle and kind he is, and his stupid smile. - In turn, Syd is inspired by her bold, brave character, adores her love for books, and how friendly and good-natured she is. BLUEBERRY | Three things they dislike about each other - Stubborness and willingness to die for the weirdest reasons, like a twin brother or Asgard’s rules, are the main ones. There should be a third one, but I dunno if “taking some years to spill the beans about their mutual feelings” does count. CERULEAN | Three food headcanons about my rareship (Which food they love to cook or have together? Who is the best cook? Favourite cuisine? Do they usually cook at home or like to go out for dinner?) Ok, so my headcanon is that Asgard cuisine is composed of Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Icelandic cuisine. That being said: - Lyfia loves some steak, be it made of beef, goat, sheep, you name it, she always have it with bread and potatoes. Syd follows her, even having a liking for fish more. - It takes time, but Syd finally learns how to cook - he wants to help Lyfia in anything he can. Until then, he burned a lot of stuff and they had to go out for dinner for a while. Not that Lyfia complained (she secretly enjoyed hanging out with Syd during this time), they just had to stay out until the smell of burned stuff finally ceased XD Which led to long walks during the night, holding hands, and bad jokes over Syd’s cooking skills. - Out of the two, Lyfia is still the best cook; Her specialties are desserts, cakes, and cookies like syltkyssar (swedish jam kisses), the latter being their kids’ favorite.
