Everyone else shut up and let Christopher Eccleston talk. ...I just love his voice. Seriously, he could read the phone book and I would pay to hear him.

Yasssssss. YASS. 

I love, love LOVE his voice. Honestly. When he did Oedipus on BBC radio a few years ago, it was on a workday and because of the time difference, it was quite early in the morning for me. I got up super early, got ready, and listened live for the whole thing- during breakfast, to the train, on the train and walking to the office. It finished just before I walked in to the office (I have a very long commute) and I literally did not say a word to anyone for a whole 20 mins afterwards. I was ecstatic at his performance and miserable because of the story (because, you know, OEDIPUS REX). My boss (who is English) asked me, “What’s wrong with you? Are you OK?” So I told him and he was utterly aghast. “Who the HELL listens to Oedipus Rex first thing in the morning?”

LOL. 

My answer? Well, me. Because Chris Eccleston.

Sigh. That man.

I love this interview. It's so moving when he talks about when he was about to go to drama school and his parents bought him Shakespeare's works; his father, proud, said to the woman at the till 'It's for me son, he's an actor'. Lovely.
