You'll probably ignore this because everyone's complaining about Ceaser Chavez on Resurrection Day, but......eh, Yeah, kind of a big deal.
Obama declared March 31 as Ceaser Chavez day in 2011. Funny that Google waits until 2013 when the 31st is Easter Sunday. And dresses Caeser Chavez in white. For those of you who think it's just because they decided to celebrate something other than Easter....it's not. The big deal is that they waited until it coincided and purposely dissed the religious.
Not to mention that Mr. Chavez was a Catholic and would probably feel uncomfortable being honored on the anniversary of Christ's Resurrection.
And lets not forget the other religions that got snubbed. This is in the middle of Passover for the Jews. And the Hindus celebrated Holi yesterday. I mean, really, this wasn't thoughtless accidental coincidence, this was planned.
Didn't they also celebrate Earth Day on Good Friday a while back? Are they seriously going to deliberately put environmentalist and socialist agendas onto every Christian holiday they could find? I'm cool with Earth Day and Ceaser Chavez, but waiting to celebrate it on other religions' holy days is tacky and disrespectful.
whatever, I'm done. I can't complain because everyone ignores the butthurt Christian. But I wanted to add my two bits to the internet about this.

The Navy has caused a small uproar over its decision to name a cargo ship currently under construction in San Diego, California, after union activist Cesar Chavez. Chavez was a Navy veteran and a noted civil rights leader.
General Dynamics Nassco, the shipbuilding firm in charge of construction, suggested the name in honor of its Latino workforce. Nearly a third of the population of San Diego is of Hispanic descent.
The ship is being built in the prominently Latino neighborhood of San Diego called Barrio Logan.

Republican congressman Duncan Hunter, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, slammed the decision as being biased and unfair to military war heroes.
"Naming a ship after César Chávez goes right along with other recent decisions by the Navy that appear to be more about making a political statement than upholding the Navy's history and tradition," said Hunter during a press conference.
Just last week Hunter took issue with the Navy over its decision to allow..Read the rest of the article at:
