I won’t let you feel bad
OCKissWeek #4 (Cebes/Eliah, 582 words)
The rope was cutting into his skin whenever he moved, not in a painful way at all instead he found it rather pleasing. The soft mattress he was laying on did ease possible pain after all as Cebes was sure it would have been a different experience if he had a hard surface under him, not giving in to his body digging into it.

The Life, and Philosophy, of Epictetus with The Embleme of Humane Life, by Cebes. Printed by Thomas Roycroft for John Martyn (To be sold at the sign of the Bell without Temple Bar), 1670.
Philosophy For The Young Ones
The following text was my reading assignment for tomorrow's philosophy class. I am blown away with how the unity of two simple things can bring up an argument to society. The body and soul.
READ FOR SOME KNOWLEDGE. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND ARGUMENTS. EDUCATE YOURSELF AND BE OPEN.
Socrates: Yet once more consider the matter in this light: When the soul and the body are united, then nature orders the soul to rule and govern, and the body to obey and serve. Now which of these two functions is akin to the divine? and which to the mortal? Does not the divine appear to you to be that which naturally orders and rules, and the mortal that which is subject and servant?
Cebes: True.
Socrates: And which does the soul resemble?
Cebes: The soul resembles the divine and the body the mortal-there can be no doubt of that, Socrates.
Socrates: Then reflect, Cebes: is not the conclusion of the whole matter this?-that the soul is in the very likeness of the divine, and immortal, and intelligible, and uniform, and indissoluble, and unchangeable; and the body is in the very likeness of the human, and mortal, and unintelligible, and multiform, and dissoluble, and changeable. Can this, my dear Cebes, be denied?
Cebes: No, indeed.
Socrates: But if this is true, then is not the body liable to speedy dissolution? and is not the soul almost or altogether indissoluble?
Cebes: Certainly.
