Miss Fisher Christmas Cards 2017 (4)
(Posted 17-Dec-2017)
~11 is out~ The last time I unfortunately forgot some characters (shame on me and thank you @foxspirit1928 for reminding me) so I changed a few of the other last liked pictures.
The Super Bowl game is about to begin. It just occurred to me that the team colors of the Patriots (blue) and Eagles (green) happened to match Abbotsford and West Melbourne in Marked for Murder. I am imagining Cec and Bert chanting “Patriots!” “Go Eagles!” “Patriots!” “Go Eagles!”
(Note: To make the chants sound better and go with the right team colors, I took the liberty to reverse their order. Diehard football/MFMM fans, please just go with me here.)
Unlike what happened in this episode (“Two dead players, one coach locked up for obstructing an investigation and the other one charged with murder”), the playing field is leveled today. I don’t care which team prevails, just hoping for an exciting match, with some funny commercials and a stellar halftime show. May the best team win!

All around the world miss fisher fans sync their episodes and chat back and forth online using #slack. It struck me again this morning how amazing it is that this show has brought together so many people from around the world who have now become close friends. All because of a sassy lady detective with a black bob cut. Amazing…”

Miss Fisher Random Thoughts (315)
Yesterday we helped the Australians and New Zealanders celebrate Father’s Day, and today we are celebrating the Labor Day in the U.S. and Canada with Bert and Cec. Although the Northern Americans honor the labor movement on a different schedule from the rest of the world (the first Monday of September vs. May 1), the spirit of the holidays remains the same.
In S1E4 Death at Victoria Dock, Bert said that he had been a communist since 1920, and Cec was with the Waterside Workers, an Australian trade union. They quit working on the docks to open a cab business together so that they wouldn’t have to “lick the boss’s boots”. Then why would they work for a toff like Miss Fisher? Well, her boots were different, as pointed out by Cec. Although she lived in a “filthy-rich house on the corner” and “looked fancy”, she had a “thorough working knowledge of revolutionary theory” and was “happy to dispel any reformist illusions which blind workers to the chariots of capitalism”. Bert simply put it, “you can trust her”.
And the trust went both ways. Aside from Bert’s failed attempt to overcharge Miss Fisher the cab fare from Women’s Hospital to the Windsor in S1E1 Cocaine Blues, the Red Raggers had been nothing but loyal, responsible, and capable in carrying out all their assignments. In reality, they had become more than just employees of the detective agency; they were part of Miss Fisher’s newfound family.
