Cedar Bear's Health tip of the day! Keep a food diary. Sometimes it is hard to be aware of what we are eating day in and day out. If you write it down, the amount you eat may surprise you. Here are some reasons why we should keep a food diary: 1. Food tracking creates awareness 2. Keeping a food diary makes you more accountable. 3. You learn more about your eating habits. 4. You learn how many calories you should eat per day. 5. A food diary shows your progress.

You’ve probably heard that apple cider vinegar is good for your health. In times of immune challenges, it is one of the BEST home remedies you can use. 35 years ago, in his early studies in herbalism, my husband Carl developed this recipe for family use. His Grandpa, a veteran from both world wars took apple cider vinegar and honey every day for his crippling pain issues and introduced his grandson to using them nearly 60 years ago. Called Oxymels, which were also called “Honegar”, “Switchel”. - Jhoanne Robinson

DIY Sanitizing Wipes
Keep surfaces that multiple people touch clean and sanitized, such as TV and video game controls, telephones, computer and tablet keyboards, grocery store carts, your car’s steering wheel, etc., (and little one’s sticky fingers) by having a cleaning and sanitizing wipe handy that you’ve prepared yourself.
INGREDIENTS 1/3 cup water 2/3 cup alcohol 2 Tablespoons aloe vera gel 10-15 drops essential oil – eucalyptus, rosemary, spruce (or any scent/cleaning combo you like) Cotton or microfiber cloth
INSTRUCTIONS Cut cloth into squares or rectangles and stack them on top of each other.
Mix ingredients in a refrigerator storage container, or heavy-duty plastic bag with a zip closure top.
Soak cloths in the alcohol mix liquid.
Squeeze out excess liquid and place cloths in zip-closure plastic bag to take with you.
Store the rest of the cloths in a container in the refrigerator.
Use wipes for quick cleanups in the house and wherever you go. (Make sure to squeeze out excess liquid from each wipe first.)
Wash individual cloths after each use, then soak them in the cleaning mixture and reuse the cloths again and again.
(Note: Do not use on unsealed wood.)
