Being a fan of Iron Lung means violently switching between depicting Simon as like 6'4", and depicting Simon as 5'6", and every height in-between. Heightly ambiguous.

Edit: Thank you to @/ cats-wolverine for pointing out lore I got incorrect, and some confusing phrasing. Post has been reworked to clarify silliness and get lore correct :)
Remembering the time my Mum was watching the wolverine movies and I said "He's trans to me. He has too many shirts. What cis man needs four separate layers? What is he hiding? Boobs?" Because projecting things you do for trans reasons onto characters is fun and therapeutic.
And in response she went "That style was pretty common in the nineties." This doesn't make him any less trans to me, it just makes me think you knew a shit ton of stealth trans guys (sarcasm). Like yes, it was a popular style I do know this. It still is, I see at least one person dressed like this every time I go out in public. But it can be a common Canada thing and a common trans thing
Anyway, heres Logan with his four separate layers because he'll just insta heal top surgery. Transgender lad.
Disclaimer, because I'm bad at tone: Justifications below are for silly purposes, there are a multitude of reasons he could be wearing four layers, and a lot of lore that unless we pull even more sci-fantasy bullshit he kinda needs to be cis for. BUT sometimes you just want to do MatPat theory style mental gymnastics type justification of your headcanons.
"Oh, he's in the snow, he's in the Canadian winter you need layers" this is true. Canada is cold as fuck, you do need layers, especially because it's usually wet cold as opposed to dry cold (because of the ungodly amount of lakes we have. People from really really cold countries have said wet cold is horrible, because it is, it gets through ALL of you layers).
But ☝️ he runs hot, like weird superpowers amounts of raised temperature. I feel like it would be more comfortable to just accept your fate wearing one layer. Why layers then...? /Silly
Layers to blend in is another justification, but I have seen actual real life people in -25°C weather in nothing but a t-shirt. He's not going to stand out for wearing only one or two layers.
I know the reason... Boobs. Tits, even.
Thank you for coming to my batshit insane "projecting my bullshit onto characters I like" ramblings, I hope to see you soon where we will once again be turning people transgender because I have exactly one (1) thing in common with them

Tone tags aren't enough to explain the nuance of "I wish this character was trans even though it's not canon compatible and if given the chance I probably wouldn't make it canon, because I love this media and I relate to this character and I crave to be able to see myself in characters on that level."
Unfortunately this ends up coming out of my mouth as "I wish I could give that man crippling gender dysphoria," and pointing out things that could be trans even though it requires MatPat levels of mental gymnastics to achieve.
And what ends up happening is my very confused very cishet parents trying to explain that something isn't actually trans, and me staying quiet and nodding because I don't want to go on a long winded explanation that "Yes I am very aware the character isn't trans, but unfortunately neither is any other character in media I like, so please stop pointing out all the ways my comfort headcanon is incorrect and let me pretend."
"Oh thank GOD this doesn't have *popular but innocent trope/headcanon*, I hate that one. Thank you so much."
Dramatic? Yes, but dramatics are fun, and it's clearly not much ill intent, just someone who dislikes something that happens to be popular and is thankful to have something that doesn't have it. I trust this person to not be a dickwad.
"Yeah, because it's a SCORN upon the EARTH and it's BORING and DISGUSTING and personally even though I could just thoroughly block tags to make sure none of it gets to me, I think instead it would be MUCH better to have it eradicated entirely and we should also shame everyone who likes it :)"
What the fuck man
Fanfiction is neat because the actual fic itself will be very well written, then you glance at the authors note and you just go "Oh this was written in between 2016–2019 for SURE." And low and behold, 2017.
Tried to imagine a character without a mustache and stubble and my brain made him completely bald. Not even eyebrows. No eyelashes either. Ripped his hair away.
