Do you remember, now, how you came to love them? How was it different from when you fell in love with your angel back then?
Things happened with Crawly first. We met, hit it off, he was just learning to have a human body and I offered to show him the ropes. One thing led to another and before I knew it I was spending all of the Heaven-Hell movie nights with him curled around me, gently snarking back and forth as I pet him.
One day - I can't remember what brought it on, exactly, but he said something and it just... clicked. I wanted to spend as much time around him as I could, I wanted to make him as happy as I could and that- that seemed pretty much like love to me.
With Kay, however, it was more of a whirlwind. She was.... Well, my universe's Michael was a complete ass to her, hot and cold conflicted about wanting to be friends. He'd given her a set of wings - Fuck, can you imagine, the Warrior creating a working pair of wings? It was a miracle that they came out perfectly, and I do mean that.
Anyway, Michael was threatening to take them off of her just as quickly, and I stepped in, told him that he was an ass and violating Kay's privacy and autonomy in so many ways I couldn't even count it, and Kay and I got to talking while I checked them over.
We were friendly for a while, but she was more interested in a couple of people until she offered to clean my wings. I agreed, one thing led to another again, and Kay, Crawly and I ended up all three of us cuddling more times than not.
...then some sort of spell was cast, making us admit our love to the people we loved most, and their names just sort of... came out, and it was like oh.
With Theliel, it was more platonic. We were more unambiguously happy, but that also meant that it wasn't quite so firm. It's- It's been so long, now, that I don't remember how I came to love him, so I don't know how different that actually was.
