I'd rather be a fool, I'd be lost with someone new, I'd be better off dead than to live without you, I've been searchin' everyday, tryin' to find another way, I'd be better off dead than to live without you
Better Off Dead? // Brian x Celeste
Brian pulled up in front of the house, his stomach a bundle of nerves. Their house. His family. The family he'd ruined. Half of him wanted to just run, but the other half - it just couldn't have what it wanted. He sighed and walked up to the door. He'd made this bed, now he'd have to lie in it.
He stood there for a minute, not sure of what to do, finally deciding to knock on the door and show some small amount of respect. Not that he expected it to do any good. "You well and truly fucked this one up." He mumbled to himself.
I'm not dead. I'm sorry.
The harsh glare of the noon sun through the dingy hotel room windows woke Brian from his uneasy, alcohol soaked sleep. The cheap room smelled of whiskey, discarded cheap fast food, and stale cigarette smoke, and he found himself laying sideways across the bed with a handgun clutched in his hand.
He startled awake as he had every morning since the job went bad, looking around the room quickly, not remembering where he was and making sure no one was after him. They all think you're dead - He reminded himself again, laying his head back down on the bed and reaching for his phone.
He started to write out a text message to her but deleted it. Then wrote out a different one and deleted it too. This had become his morning ritual. He didn't know what to say or where to start. And what would her reaction be? If she told him that she hated him, that she was glad when they said he was dead - he'd just pull the trigger. And maybe it really was better if she thought he was dead.
He couldn't believe what an incredible mess he'd made. This time he didn't think he could talk or smile his way out of it. Somehow he had convinced himself that it was right for him to pull that job. It was revenge at its finest, with the added bonus of enough money to set his little family up for the rest of their lives. He was planning a movie-like return, in a private jet, to pick up his woman and take her away to some tropical island to live happily ever after. When had he turned into a fucking moron? He couldn't remember.
Brian had learned at a very early age that there were no happily ever afters. He chuckled as he started humming to himself, then sang loudly, "All those fairy tales are full of shit!!" His song turned into laughter - he was losing his fucking mind. He sat up and grabbed the half empty bottle of Jack, taking a big swig, then he glanced at his phone again.
"Stop being a fucking pussy!" He yelled at himself, taking another big swig of whiskey and clunking the bottle back down on the bedside table. He grabbed the phone again and just stared at it, then finally tapped out a message and hit send.
[Text:Tiger] I'm not dead. I'm sorry.
He rolled his eyes and shook his head, then fell back on to the bed and closed his eyes.
Ooc post
Hi gang! I've been super busy lately and haven't had any time to RP. Hopefully over the weekend I can come back for a few hours but I'm not sure. So bear with me :)
[my birthday is on May 3rd. I just figured I'd ask now because it can take a month to get here and yes. ]
Family Comes First
*I wake up at five in the morning to the sound of Danny crying and I get up and go to his room and pick him up* Hey, what’s the matter with you? *I rub his back and kiss his head and when he doesn’t settle, I take him downstairs and we end up sitting on the sofa with us both watching his baby cartoons.*
*I chuckle as Danny excitedly giggles and holds onto his teddy bear and I feel my eyes rolling. Next thing I know it’s eight-thirty and we have a full day ahead of us, a surprise I had been planned since last week.*
