(A lot to ask but here it goes) So any story on how you thought of the name for your character or was it not the first thing you had at the time of when you first played? When and or what made you decide on doing animation and drawing with RuneScape and what was the inspiration for it like the iconic gear you have and beloved characters? And lastly did you ever imagine you’d become famous and or popular when you first started?

Gonna break this down question by question!“So any story on how you thought of the name for your character or was it not the first thing you had at the time of when you first played?” 

I wanted to name my character Pretzel, after our dachshund. We had just gotten him as a pup only a month ago and, being a 10 year old, that pup is the obsession of your life. Unsurprisingly, that name was taken. My brother suggested adding numbers but I didn’t want numbers because I wanted it to be an “actual” name. My mom called us to dinner before we could come up with a name, and we were having potato and leek soup. I spilled some of it and Pretzel started eating the mess, so Pretzeleek popped into my head. That didn’t quite roll off the tongue, so I dropped a few letters, and thus “Prezleek” came to my head. Pretzel is still with us today and keeps me company while I ‘Scape sometimes :)

When and or what made you decide on doing animation and drawing with RuneScape and what was the inspiration for it like the iconic gear you have and beloved characters? 

I always loved cartoons and animations as a kid - whether it was reading comics like Calvin and Hobbes, Asterix, Tintin, etc. or watching cartoons (90-2000s Cartoon Network, Looney Tunes, Spongebob, Disney Renaissance films, etc.) Consequently I would draw a lot, even before RS. I just started drawing RS because I was gauging an interest in it, and Jagex’s quirky sense of humor seemed to line up with my own, and lent itself nicely to being illustrated. I actually draw a lot of non-RS things as well but they’re just not seen by as many people or are as popular.

Asterix easily was the biggest inspiration for choosing the gear I did - I always loved how Asterix’s helmet emoted with him and enhanced his expressions; Combined with the fact the nezzy was one of the most popular and iconic items to the game, it made the Neitiznot helm seem like the perfect choice for the signature headgear!

And lastly did you ever imagine you’d become famous and or popular when you first started?

Not at all! I mostly just drew for my friends or myself for laughs since most of the jokes just seemed like dumb stuff only we would laugh at, but when I had a friend encourage me to share it to Reddit to increase viewership, I was actually terrified people would hate it because there’s a stigma that cartoons are not “Real art” and are “childish” and can’t/shouldn’t be enjoyed by adults. I was pleasantly surprised by the encouraging words, which made it easier to share more, and more and well…the rest is history :)
