27. If they were a ghost, how would they haunt in the afterlife?
kima would ask someone to put their bones in her bag of molding. she haunts them with mold spores and then probably ask vita and the rest of the party to perform a seance
64. What is one thing they want each party member to know?
henlyn - thank you for letting us spend so much time in your place of work despite, the, you know. everything about us. you have a lovely home-away-from-home
pagrax - thank you for taking care of us despite the, you know, tiny wet rat thing. and the meat cup thing. and the-
denali - i can't decide whether for your safety you should have more swords or less but just. uh. this feels like it is not at the right equilibrium
vita - i'm just saying, if you ever want to go back for the bodies. the bag's already waterlogged so what do we have to lose
nathis (who i know is not technically a dmpc but still) - i don't know how you're still alive but. come to a pyrotechnics tuesday at the maw sometime? open invite we'll try not to get you killed
happy sleepover saturday!! do you have any fav dnd stories??
happy sleepover saturday bea i hope you've had a good saturday! and oh man i can't narrow down to a single favorite but because celestine secrets is playing tomorrow: recently the party dove under the hull of leviathan to rothgar's rudder, which isn't just a part of the city but is actually the wreck of an enemy ship that tried to ram the leviathan, sank, and is still attached. it's got a nasty aasimar undead captain (melkizedek rothgar) who's been petrified and pearlized into a mother-of-pearl skeleton and just. the atmosphere whooo i love it! but one ongoing thread we're still following is what to do about the bodies of the crew, mummified and entombed in the ship. vita (grave cleric) has been stealing from and/or laying to rest bodies all game, and kima (my pc, artillerist artificer) not only wants to be friend/accomplice to that whole deal but also has a strong loyalty to leviathan and thinks that the captain shouldn't be able to own his sailors' bodies if they're part of leviathan now. tl;dr i'm loving the possibility for unionizing the dead/bodysnatching that's going on both as a cool kima&vita moment and just. celestine secrets-typical chaos
hello hello what is celestine secrets? is this another campaign different from ehas?
yes, it's another campaign i'm in with a different group, a few of whom are on tumblr! i talk a little bit about it in the list of games/characters on my tags page but it's a dnd5e campaign in the pirate city of leviathan
Hiiiiiii sola! Happy sleepover Saturday how have u been? Top 5 fave dice rolls? (Or most wild things thats ever happened in dnd because of dice?) Hope you have a good one <3
hi hi hello! i'm doing okay, almost finished up w my fall quarter (one essay left) but i'm allowing myself a weekend to like. hang out with my family and draw a lot so it's good!
ooh man okay. dice rolls under the cut.
these are heavily weighted towards the end of wandering isles i promise i've played dnd like. before and since then asdfghjkl
5. nat 20 to draw a horse: celestine secrets first session. denali (wild magic sorcerer from leviathan) is arguing with an npc scholar from the mainland. denali doesn't believe horses are real. denali thinks horses are fucked up centaurs. denali rolls a nat 20 sleight of hand. "against all odds, you manage to draw a horse. an actual horse." the nat 20 was glorious the way to honor it even more so but really this one's on here because MAN did this set the tone for the campaign as a whole
4. theresa and tâm trading bonuses: wandering isles, mid-final-battle, theresa (wizard, left the party to pursue her own life and her freedom) wakes, praying, hundreds of miles away. at the same time, tâm (my wild magic barbarian) is unconscious, and feeling the sliver of veviri she's holding onto die with her. she makes an arcana check and gets to add six, to feel something tethering her. theresa makes a religion check and gets to add three, reaching out to a tiny light, something familiar. tâm gets to add six because that's theresa's bonus; theresa gets to add that's tâm's wisdom mod. theresa nails the dc 20 check and tâm feels a heartbeat floating above hers and and veviri abolt, made real again, steps out and over tâm's body onto the field AAAA like strictly speaking this wasn't dice but it was numbers and also it makes me go completely bonkers
3, 2. xarus nat 20 and castellane DOUBLE nat 20s in the docks fight: wandering isles party are on an airship about to escape a fight with castellane in his last form before the finale, and xarus (barbarian cleric) rolled a nat 20 on intimidation to try to make himself look like the biggest threat and protect nyx (fighter, extremely hurt, just got dragged on board the ship by xarus, youngest member of the party along with her bard twin sister eris. xarus also has self sacrificial tendencies at the best of times and this is a pretty bad time). we're so scared from this fight but we think we're so close to being done. castellane rolls a nat 20 to beat xarus's intimidation. our stomachs Drop. castellane rolls ANOTHER nat 20 to grapple nyx out of xarus's arms, power word kill her, and drop her corpse into the endless sky. it was FUCKED and one of the best dnd moments i've ever played holy shit.
1. tâm nat 20 to find veviri: we're in the penultimate fight before the finale and having a rough time with a silver dragon guarding the mountains of the nexus, where the planes meet and are torn apart. tâm has been feeling the ever-growing pressure of wild magic all the way up the mountain and a tug at the other end of the tether that gives her that magic every turn as veviri (wild magic sorcerer betrayed by the bbeg and turned into a torn-apart entity, now being completely destroyed by the fuckery the bbeg is doing to the nexus), but we're not going to make it past this dragon in time to help and it's looking bad so. tâm makes a desperate check to reach veviri through the tether (tâm is a barbarian. her chances are not good), remembering reaching for her hand in a dream. nat fucking 20 baybee finds veviri on the other end of the tether fighting for her life, holding on to Something and keeping veviri alive by the force of having reached out. waaaaAAH
today in celestine secrets: artificer made the decision to open our bag of holding underwater in order to collect three mummified corpses we found inside a shipwreck, causing three bricks of cocaine said artificer had previously pickpocketed from our cleric to float out and a metric fuckton of ocean water to gush in, rendering the bag of holding permanently drippy and moist inside and henceforth called by our DM the “bag of molding”
my players tried to use a bag of holding underwater today and wanted to know if that would work, so i ruled that it does, but also everything in the bag would become perpetually wet for the rest of time, turning it into a bad of molding
