September MC & OCs of the Month - Special Edition: Celia Moore
Help us in welcoming September's MCs and OCs of the month! That's right, plural! Most months, CFWC highlights one randomly selected MC or OC from our Meet My MC / OC List. (More info here.) But this month, we're doing something different.
In August, @lilyoffandoms hosted a Writers Appreciation Month, and we announced the September Writer of the Month would be selected from its participants. But all participants agreed - Lily deserved the honor! Still, we wanted to do something nice for the eleven writers who elected to participate to help uplift other writers in the fandom. So, this month, each of the eleven participants will have one of their MCs or OCs highlighted.
We will introduce each MC / OC individually, and once all eleven have been highlighted, a masterlist for the month will be created. We hope you enjoy getting to know all about them!
The ninth MC of the Month is @trappedinfanfiction 's Celia Moore!
Learn more about Celia below...
In your own words, tell us what you like most about your MC.
It’s hard to say exactly what I like most about her, but probably her dedication. She doesn’t back down when things don’t go her way and will always do everything she can to do what she believes is right. She has worked hard to end up where she has, and she knows it; she won’t let the words of others destroy her own accomplishments.
Do you feel your MC is like you at all? How are you alike or different?
I feel like I put some of myself in every MC/OC I have, and Celia is no different. She might be the one that I am the most alike, but at the same time, she’s a lot different from me. Maybe a bit more like how I want to be. She’s passionate and not afraid to speak up if something is wrong and is willing to take risks to turn things in a better direction, especially in the medical world. She’s also a lot more social than me. While she enjoys her alone time and keeps a smaller circle of very close friends, she doesn’t really have a problem talking and getting to know new people.
What is most important to your MC? What is their motivation in life?
The most important thing for Celia is the people around her, her family, friends and patients. They are her motivation. She wants them to have a good life and wants to help where she can. She hates where the medical world is heading, where money is becoming more important than what the people needs. As her influence in the medical world grows, she uses her privilege to work for a world where people don’t have to go into a life-time of debt just to get the help they need, and that no one should be turned away just because of their looks and identity.
What are their biggest pet peeves/dislikes?
People who always think they know best because they googled something and generally rude/intolerant people. “Oh, you’re a woman? You have to be a nurse. Let me speak to a man.” is something she hears a lot, and it makes her blood boil.
If your MC could change one thing - anything - what would it be?
If she could change the world, she would. She knows it’s impossible in reality, but through her work she knows she at least can help her patients. She will do her very best to give every single patient the help they need. Be it someone to talk to, or finding the right treatment.
What is your MC’s favorite quote or song?
This one is so hard! I never have any idea when I am asked about music, because what I listen to isn’t necessarily what my MC/OCs would like and I honestly can’t even settle on my own favorites. However, I can see her liking Raleigh Carrera’s music.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your MC?
I never believed that I would ever post any of my writing, but Celia has been my door into sharing it. She has developed into her own character outside the MC I played as in Open Heart and I have had so much fun writing her story. She was my escape during the pandemic and I have gotten so many friends in the fandom because of her. Some have left, and some are still here, and I am grateful for every single one. I never believed what was supposed to be a small drabble would lead to where things are now.
Over the holidays, I had a giveaway, and one of the "prizes" was a fic of the winner's choice. @trappedinfanfiction won, and she asked me to write something for her MC, Celia Moore, and Ethan. I had a mini-stroke lol - trying to write someone else's character is always a challenge. You want to make sure you get them and the dynamics right, but I accepted the challenge. I hope I got this right! I really hope you enjoy it, Tif! :)

Category: Fluff/Fun
Summary: It's a lazy Saturday afternoon, and Ethan is marveling at how much his life has changed... and how much he wants to do with Celia... but then, things take a not-so-sweet turn.
Words: 1,521
A/N: Participating in the @choicesjanuarychallenge Day 3 - Cooking (in a couple different ways).
Life had changed for Ethan Ramsey. There was a time when he believed every moment needed to be accounted for; lazy afternoons were for the indolent and slothful, and he was neither. But if Dr. Ramsey learned anything since he met Celia Moore, it was that his opinion was subject to change, and, more often than not, she was the inspiration.
So, while he may have been half-asleep at 2:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon, the smile on his face made it clear he was nothing but content. Shifting positions on the sofa, he pulled his chenille blanket up to his chin and nuzzled into the oversized pillow supporting his head. What had he been thinking all these years? This was bliss.
While the much-needed rest was pleasant enough, he woke to an aroma that took things to a new level. Could it be? He took a deep breath and let the delicious scent fill his senses. It was! There was no mistaking it – Celia’s maple walnut cookies – his favorite thing in the world next to her –baking in the oven. He happily opened his eyes. Now, there was something extraordinary to wake up to. But when his eyes fell on her, he was reminded the cookies paled in comparison.
Her hair was pulled into a ponytail, and her soft, auburn curls cascaded down her back. She wore his faded Hopkins sweatshirt, nearly double her size, over a pair of black leggings. Oblivious to the impact seeing her in his clothing had on him. She flitted about the living room, happily humming a song he didn’t know as she dusted away. He had told her to rest too, but she insisted she had too much to get done… had they traded places?
She continued her chores, unaware that the man she loved was watching her, transfixed by her every move. The way her hips sashayed to a song only she could hear, how the sunlight pouring in the window made her eyes sparkle more than any emerald this world had ever seen. And when she bent over to pick up a book he had left on the floor, he had never been more grateful for being slovenly. His sweatshirt hung low, giving him an ample peek of what lay underneath. Her leggings, hugging every curve, left nothing to his imagination save what he planned to do to her in short time. How did he ever live without her? He wasn’t sure, but he knew he’d never do it again.
She reached up to dust the top of the window, and he couldn’t take any more. Quietly, he rose from the couch, sneaking up behind her, seduction the only thing on his mind. But his smooth plans met an abrupt end when he tripped. Celia was startled as he lunged toward her, but not in the way he had planned.
“Dear God,” she gasped, her delicate hand covering her chest. “Were you hoping to give me a heart attack, Ethan?”
“I was hoping to give you something,” he grinned, “but a heart attack wasn’t the plan.”
“Oh, were you,” she smiled, affection shining in her eyes. “Well, I have something to give you; I’m making your favorite cookies, and they’re almost done.”
“I know,” he said, wrapping his hands around her waist, “that’s what woke me.” She leaned into the warmth of his chest, and he kissed the top of her head. “You’re too good to me,” he whispered.
“Nonsense,” she grinned as she squeezed him closer. “I plan on spoiling you a whole lot more.”
DING-DONG!
“Ugh, what is that,” Ethan groaned with disgust.
“In America, I think we call it a doorbell,” she replied sarcastically, then headed toward the door.
“Well, let it go,” he hollered, quick at her feet. “We’re not waiting for anyone. Let them go away.”
Her hand was on the knob when she turned around to admonish him. “Ethan Jonah Ramsey! It could be something important! We can’t just ignore it!”
She opened the door wide to find Tobias, bundled up in his winter coat, staring back at them.
“It wasn’t,” Ethan whispered, earning him an elbow in his rib.
“Tobias,” Celia greeted pleasantly, “what are you doing here?”
“I was in the area,” he said, pulling a bottle from under his arm. “I know you guys said you wanted to try that wine I was telling you about. I was at the store, so I bought it, and since I was right here, I figured I’d deliver it personally.”
“That was so nice of you!” She sang as Ethan attempted to disguise his contempt. “Completely unnecessary, but very appreciated. Hey, I’m making homemade cookies; they’re just about done. Why don’t you come in and have some with us?”
Tobias opened his mouth to politely decline when Ethan gruffly jumped in.
“He doesn’t like cookies, Celia. Isn’t that right, Tobias?”
Tobias’s eyes narrowed as he shot a look his friend's way.
“You know what, Celia, I would love some cookies. In fact,” he smirked, passing Ethan with a grin. “I am the world’s biggest cookie fan. Do you have milk? I might be here all day!”
Ethan’s let out a sigh as he closed the door. He could just hear Celia’s words… he’d never learn, this one was on him.
Tobias’s made a noise usually reserved for “other activities” as he shoveled another cookie into his mouth. “Oh, these are so good.”
“Those are my maple walnut cookies. They’re Ethan’s favorite too.”
“Yeah,” Ethan grumbled. “So don’t eat too many of them!”
“In that case, I think I’ll take some to go!” Ignoring Ethan, he turned to Celia. “Did I ever tell you about the time numbnuts over here attempted to make gingerbread when we were in? Well, it all started when….”
Forty minutes later, Celia was howling as Tobias regaled her with story after story from Ethan’s past. Celia was delighted, and Ethan was increasingly irked; it was like Christmas had come early for Dr. Carrick. He was about to launch into another tale when Ethan, still eager to return to his previous plans, had enough.
“Tobias, don’t you have any other plans today?”
“Ethan!” Celia scolded, “He was kind enough to come down here and bring us that bottle of wine, and this is how you behave?”
Tobias looked over at Ethan and immediately knew what was on his buddy’s mind. With a snicker, he stood up and grabbed his coat.
“It’s all right, C,” he smiled. “Clearly, we know how to be pleasant hosts. Ethan here… let’s just say he can still benefit from your tutelage.”
“Mmm,” Ethan grumbled as the three walked to the door. “Of course you’re a good host, considering how many you… entertain… at your place.”
Tobias turned to his friend with a faux-hurt expression. “And you know, despite the number served, I treat each one incredibly well. Never a complaint about my hospitality! Five-star reviews, will come back, highly recommend!”
“Jesus Christ,” Ethan mumbled.
When they reached the door, Tobias turned to say goodbye, accepting a small bag of cookies from Celia.
“Celia, you’re a doll. I don’t know what you see in this animal.”
“Well,” she slipped her arm around Ethan’s back with a wink. “Maybe it’s the animal in him that I like.”
Amused, Tobias rocked back and forth with a mischievous grin. “Oh, I see….” he teased. “Now I know why he’s so eager to get rid of me. Well,” he tapped Ethan’s shoulder, “you kids have fun now. Don’t do anything Uncle Tobias wouldn’t do… that should leave you pretty open?”
“Goodbye!” Ethan grumbled as he began to close the door, but Tobias stopped him, slipping his head back in.
“You guys don’t have a sex swing, do you? Because if you’d like me to drop my extra one-off….”
“GOODBYE, TOBIAS!” Ethan yelled, nearly slamming the door on his friend.
When he turned around, Celia was leaning against the wall in a fit of laughter… the way Ethan found her most beautiful. Thoughts of Tobias quickly dissipated as Ethan rushed to her, kissing her ferociously as he pressed her up against the wall. Breaking free for a breath of air, Cecilia reached up and ran her fingers through her lover’s hair.
“Ethan,” she purred. “If this is what you wanted, why didn’t you just say so from the start?”
“Dr. Moore,” he replied, lifting his sweatshirt over her head. “If we’re ever home, alone, with no plans… new rule… assume this is what I want.”
“Mmm… I like that,” she hummed as he unclasped her bra, his lips and tongue trailing down her neck. “But Ethan…”
“Hmmm,” he groaned, not diverting from his task.
“Maybe we should take Tobias up on dropping off that sex swing?”
Ethan glanced at her with darkened eyes, then wordlessly lifted her up against the wall, where she eagerly wrapped her legs around his waist.
“I don’t need a swing, Rookie,” he growled.
“Mmm,” she simpered, her teeth tugging at his ear. “Then show me what you’ve got, Dr. Ramsey.”
Hi! For the "would our OC's get along" ask. I am curious about Celia and Casey/Kaycee, I think you know what's she's like. But just to cut it down a bit: She's kind, hard-working and can be stubborn to a fault when it comes to things she believe in. But she got a mischievous streak as well and can be quite competitive at times (ask Ian or Ethan, lol). She's always there for those she care about, but if someone break her trust, it's hard to get close to her again. She enjoys hanging out with friends, but also enjoys having some time on her own, reading, relaxing to some music or working out (be it on machines or boxing, as long as it's not a long jog 😂)
Hey there! Oh, this is so much fun!
OK, so as you know, Casey and Kaycee are similar but different. Casey is definitely more outgoing, exuberant, and (some would say) annoying lol. Kaycee is not a wallflower by any means, but she is more reserved and a little more serious. Casey ends up with Tobias, and those two worlds of crazy coming together are like BOOM! Whereas Kaycee is with Ethan, and she is more comfortable with a bit of a quieter existence. Again, she's not dull, she brings a lot of spark to his life, but I believe we are absolutely impacted by who we are with, and Kaycee is a little less out there than Casey.
I think both would bet along with Celia. They'd admire her intelligence, determination, and her spunk. I think both would become "work-friends" and out-of-work friends but to different degrees.
I think Celia would love hanging out with Casey - to a degree. Like they'd be at the holiday party together, and Celia would be laughing at all the hijinx. But in general, I think she'd become closer to Kaycee. Like her, Kaycee enjoys time with friends but also wants alone time too. I can see them taking in a yoga class together, having lunch, maybe a spa day, then happily heading home.
Hello! Question for you: In your HC, does Celia have any long-term effects from the chemical attack or its treatment?
Oh, interesting question. Thank you @jerzwriter!
Now, the answer to your question is yes. Not only mentally, but physically as well. She was close to dying by poisoning! No one can tell me there aren't any lasting effects after that.
For a long time after, Celia was struggling with nightmares and being locked in rooms. She did go to therapy, and it does get better with time, but there are still relapses.
Physically, her body was put through it. For some time after her recovery, she felt weak, and there were some lingering effects for months. Eventually, she felt more or less healthy again, but they do keep an extra eye on her in case there are some damage to her heart, for example. It might be important as she grows older after all.
Fun (?) fact: Those poisoned should not have fish, nuts, alcohol or caffeine for 6 months after recovery as it can cause a relapse in symptoms. The more you know!

Summary: It's Christmas in the hospital, but Santa is unable to visit. Celia and Alexis is on a mission to fix it.
A/N: 100 years later I finally write something again. Just a quick little drabble to get those writing muscles going.
Holiday prompts for: @choicesficwriterscreations - Forced to dress as Santa/an Elf when their coworker calls out sick; @choicesholidays - This is the most embarrassing Christmas ever!
* * * * *
It was a beautiful day. Cold, like a Boston winter usually is, but beautiful. At least outside. Within the office of one Dr. Ramsey on the other side, the air had turned rather sour.
“No.” A booming voice sounded throughout the room, Ethan Ramsey was not happy with his wife's newest suggestion, but it did not deter her at all from her mission. “Come on, Ethan, it will be fun!”
His eyes narrowed at the thought of himself all dressed up. “If that's how you feel, why can't you dress up?”
Celia only rolled her eyes at his stubborness. “1. Because my voice will be too recognizable. 2. I need to be there with the kids!”
Ethan only looked at her, he would not back down on this.
---
At the same time, in an office just down the hall, Alexis was also on a mission. “Tobias?"
The other man looked up from the paper in his hands, his lip turning up into a small grin at the sight of her. “Alexis. What can I help you with?”
“Well..." She slowly made her way over to the desk. "... Santa that was supposed to visit the kids today?”
“And?” His eyebrow rose, unsure of where this conversation was going, but too focused on her to really care.
“He couldn’t come, so I was thinking…” She stopped right in front of him, very close to him, so she knew his attention was completely locked on her. Got you.
---
“How is it going back there?.” Celia tried to seem neutral, but it was hard to keep her laughter at bay as she watched Ethan step out in the elf constume she had given him. And the look he gave dared her to even let out a small chuckle, it was quite clear how he was feeling about the whole thing. "Are you serious?"
“Well, if you had said yes immediately instead of being such a Grinch, then you could have been Santa." She said matter of factly as she straightened the hat on his head. "But Tobias was first, so now you have to deal with it.”
"He will tease me about this for weeks."
"On the contrary Dr. Ramsey..." Tobias, all dressed up as Santa, beard and all, stepped inside the room, a big smile on his face. "I will remind you for the rest of your life."
With a groan Ethan was already dreading the stories he would tell. "You're making me regret ever becoming friends with you again..."
"Oh, so we are friends?" Celia hadn't thought it was possible, but somehow Tobias' smile seemed to grow even bigger. That of course only earned him a a look from Ethan. "Shut up."
"Never." He laughed. "But enough about that, we can discuss our status later. We are all ready, and we can't keep the audience waiting." And with a dramatic movement he threw the gift bag onto his back. "Let's go!"
Love how you're asking this about the most social media hating li (well, one of them, lol) 😂 But anyway, I will do my best:
Send me an AU and I'll give you 5+ headcanons
I can't really see Ethan as anything working with social media, lol. But I could see Celia working with it (and this AU could work for both the more "canon" world with Ethan as a doctor, or in my AU with him as a basketball player. The last one would probably make the most sense)
Celia would probably be something like a "social media manager" or whatever it's called, and would be called in to help Ethan get a presence in the digital world as his name grows more known.
Of course, Ethan wouldn't like it and would fight it every step of the way, feeling like it's a waste of time. Celia is undeterred and takes the challenge to set it up.
At first their "relationship" is awkward at best, with Celia wanting to do her best work while Ethan doesn't want to do anything at all.
Celia wants to post stuff that isn't too uncomfortable for him, and luckily, Ethan eventually relents and helps her.
From there things turn to the better, and they become more open with each other with both helping the other outside of work as well if needed.
And as time passes, other feelings start to develop as well.
Probably have to figure out where to place the others in the gang as well, and figure out some drama. Can't have it straight forward like this of course 😂
Ooh, I love this! It's probably not five, but here is what I got:
Send me an AU and i'll give you 5+ headcanons
Ethan is an "old" model, but with a number of younger models entering the scene, he and his management feels he need to become more relevant.
Celia is called in to work with him. She's a new model, just entering the scene.
The plan was to do one or two photoshoots together and see how it goes. At first the relationship between them is just professional, they are only supposed to work together for a short while and then go their own ways.
Then, after the first shoots are posted, there is a rise in their popularity, and the managements decides to do another photoshoot. This time, Celia and actually starts to talk more and they become friends.
That's what I have right now, but I am thinking there is probably some drama to push them apart, and their relationship is basically non-existent, before they figure it out (to mirror canon)😉
