I’ve been seeing more Halloween pennants and I’m not complaining.
Calico Pennant, Celithemis elisa (by me)
Bug of the Day
A beautiful Calico Pennant (Celithemis elisa) attracted to the mercury vapor lamp at a moth night last July. It’s always a treat when dragonflies show up in the middle of the night!
Another picture of that dragonfly because her wings are exquisite.
(It’s a female. Males’ wings are orange and black which is where the Halloween name came from.)
