Gavotte 2 has sections which remind me of an organ or hurdy-gurdy as well as bagpipes. This movement gives me the impression of walking through an outdoor festival hearing music coming from different places as I pass by. My Suzuki violin students enjoy learning this piece in a wonderful and simplified arrangement in Suzuki violin school book 5. Suzuki’s arrangement is in the original key since the cello never uses the lowest C string in this movement.
