Back in 2017, I made this 1000 cranes, & took a poll, intending to be done with this project shortly afterwards. Loooong story short: it didn’t happen. But! I completely reworked my design, & finished it! I also honored the original poll results: Ravenclaw was 1st (I put an extra element in their hourglass), Slytherin & Gryffindor tied for 2nd, & Hufflepuff came in 4th! Now that 1) I’ve finally finished this huge project, & 2) I’ve given it to the intended person, I can share it! I made this Peter Pan inspired piece for an amazing friend’s nursery! There are (just shy of) 1000 cranes inside the tree trunk! & I put 3 on the tree to represent each family member, & made a “Second Star to the Right” with a few more cranes! The quote is my favorite from the book: “To live will be an awfully big adventure.” The cranes alone took more than 45 hours to fold.. in total, the whole piece took.. well, a good bit longer.
