Lucille's childhood home, formerly 59 West Eighth Street, is now 59 Lucy Lane and is a privately owned residence in Celoron, New York. Two years ago I had the pleasure of a personal tour and came away with some amazing photographs. I had to recreate this image from Lucy's 1956 visit to the house. The hall and foyer at the foot of these stairs was where Lucille held some of her earliest 'performances'. 'It had a front porch and a back shed, and a small, dark front parlor separated from the front hall by portieres. These were the stage curtains for our innumerable productions as Freddy and I grew up.'—Lucille Ball, Love Lucy 'Inside the front door, just past the foyer, was a staircase where Lucille performed songs and dances for whoever took the time to watch. The makeshift stage looked into the living room, closed off by a curtain that was by turns Lucille's prop or the means of privacy for those who were ailing.'—Kathleen Brady, The Life of Lucille Ball. #lucilleball #childhoodhome #celoronny #lucylane #stage #performances #parlor #foyer #lucycomeshome https://www.instagram.com/p/CSFFdPmlB9X/?utm_medium=tumblr
