The History Of Centella Ndoki
In a desolate territory of Congo, where two rivers divide, appeared a whirlwind: in the middle of great battle, a tribe of very few men, painted in blood red, made war ferociously against an innumerable army, who already had almost expired. This whirlwind that reached to the heavens, enveloped and painted brown with mud, not letting itself be seen by their enemies, decimated with each of it turns the huge army that was in front of it.
Days later, in the middle of the celebration of the victorious battle, there arrived a woman with a black ebony complexion, carry a staff that had Kiyumbas (skulls) hanging from it and was wrapped in brown and purple lines.
The king of the tribe, who was Nkulu the traveler sat in the circle of the campfire, where the woman were at in the middle of the night. The king called the visitor and asked who she was and where she was from: to which she replied. “I am the answer to your man’s prayer, I am who has always been by your side, I am who for which you can escape, I am that same night without moon or stars, I am the queen of the army you always see. With every one of your battles, my army grows. I am “death” made woman.”
With these words the king retired to his hut and the next morning, he woke to see that the traveler was still standing in the same place where he had left her. He asked, “What do you want from me and my people?” She responded,
“Of thee, I love you, because I am enamored, by your strength, by your intelligence, by your wisdom, for your loyalty to your tribe, for your loyalty to the religion, for your courage and your wisdom in justice for your tribe. I want to learn how to be as faithful to you like they are, I want to know the secrets they have so as not to fear your departure or your arrival at my kingdom. I want to learn what it is in this happiness and joy. ''
Nkulu proclaimed a great tribulation because of the words that the woman had spoken. He decided to take her as his wife. She would be his ninth wife and the youngest of all. After nine days from her decision, there was the sound of a spark, and nine piles of wealth appeared, symbolizing the queen’s dowry.
It was the supreme moment of that tribe, the ninth wife would give the king nine children, 4 females and 5 males, the first male would inherit the kingdom as a result of his father's departure. (Historically this tribe is called the Zulu).
Centella Ndoki, as the tribe is called, is due to the spark (Centella), where the wealth appeared, and Ndoki his reign, how he learned to be so fierce, a bold warrior, a wise king using the spark in battles, and using the whirlwind of the Nfumbe to protect his people.
Nine days after the departure of Nkulu, Centella Ndoki, was discredited by the wives of the king, and was turned against the tribe after being the most beloved, and now was the most neglected. One day she stood at the gated of the cemetery and told the tribe, “I have learned a lot from this king and you, especially the betrayal of which I've been caught up in these last days. Here is where you will see me, here is where I will always be, I go but not to leave, but to accompany someone who was removed to be with me, and my voice will only be heard by those whom I choose because it will be up to me to accept them or not.” As she turned back to enter the cemetery a swirl of Nfumbes wrapped around her and she disappeared in a flash.
From that day until today, Centella Ndoki has been revered and her attention has been to the owner of Nfumbes and gate keeper of the cemetery.
Some say that this deity could be divided into three stages.
CENTELLITA – A young and exuberant woman, full of riches and adherence to her principles.
CENTELLA - The mother and warrior, defiant and unafraid of any warrior, and a woman full of ambition to learn to be human.
CENTELLA NDOKI - The woman betrayed by her people, who for love made the sacrifice to leave everything to follow him. Giving it all without expecting anything in return. Centella Ndoki is the most Muertera deity and she has great respect in the Mayombe.
