Rathus - Hamburg by Hussain Isa Alderazi Via Flickr: The Hamburg Rathaus is located in the Altstadt quarter in the centre of Hamburg, Germany, near the lake Binnenalster and the central station. It is the seat of the government of Hamburg. Constructed from 1886 to 1897, the city hall still houses its original governmental functions with the office of the First Mayor of Hamburg and the meeting rooms for the parliament and the senate of Hamburg.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY VIDEO! MY FRIEND FILMED IT.

Ok so yesterday was our senior prank day.  Typically the grade 12s act like a bunch of idiots and torment the people in the younger grades.  This has in the past has resulted in: 12 goldfish deaths (they forced to kids to walk in a pool full of them in order to let them in the school), vandalism on the mascot statue, a cow getting stuck on the third floor of the school (they didn't know that cows cannot walk down stairs), etc. However our year wanted to something that would be funny yet would not be cruel.  So we decided that we would do something nice for this teacher who does and will do any for all the students in the school, his name is Mr. Sweeney.  He runs the can good collection for our school.  Our graduating class decided that we would collect can/ non-perishables and money donations (as he also buys food for us even though doesn't need to). 

We filled the whole room in cans (you cant really see in the video but we were able to cover the desks in cans and the floor was covered in the non-perishables), and we created a little barricade behind the door from what ever cans we had left over.  When we closed the we left the three smallest cans and a ketchup bottle out side the door to make it look like that's all we donated. 

When he came in the morning, as you can kind of see in the video, people hid in the room beside it so that it would make it less suspicious.  The loud sound you hear when he opens the door is him dropping the little cans out of shock.  He legitimately  started to cry. Later as he walked into the class he found a card with a gift certificate in it (from the money donations).  He then gave a speech thanking us for doing this for him and that the reason he teaches is for us the students. 

We where so happy that the whole thing was a success and that we could make him so happy.  He is a great man and honesty deserves all the happiness in the world.
