Melted Ice Cream (Christchurch) introduced me to Salad Boys several years back. They also released Terror of the Deep, Transistors, and Centre Negative. I’ve really enjoyed this label over the course of the last 4(ish) years.
“Sickest Smashes from Arson City” is a Melted Ice Cream compilation of the Christchurch, New Zealand scene. I used to associate Christchurch almost exclusively with The Bats - until now. Christchurch is clearly a vibrant music scene and this CD (I think it’s Melted Ice Cream’s first CD release....are CDs going to be the new hip format?) comes with a 12 page booklet.
There is so much to dig into here. My favorites so far are The Teasers and Jim Nothing tracks. All tracks are previously unreleased. The artwork alone is worth the price of admission.
