Yay for AU headcanons :D so... chefs/food critics AU, atomwave?
Ray’s never been all that good cooking, but he know’s food, thanks to an older cousin, one of the few in the Palmer family that adored Ray over Sydney. She was an aspiring chef, who used Ray as her test subject, because of his allergies, she wanted to create healthy food that tasted amazing. So yeah, Ray knew food. So he starts writing a food blog, easily earning quite a cult following.
His one rule he never breaks though, is Ray makes sure to keep himself anonymous, so that his relaxing time (writing the blog) away from running Palmer Technologies.
Mick’s been in and out of restrurants since he was a kid. After his mother left his dad when Mick was about 10, she moved the family back to her hometown and got a job working in her Aunt’s diner, and Mick began helping out not long after once he realized the grill flames got so high.
Mick works in and out of fancy restaurants, dive bars, pubs and hole in the wall places no one but locals would ever know about. He works his way through the Gem Cities, dabbling in all different cuisines, and earning a reputation for being one of the bests Chefs.
Eventually though, Mick gets tired of working for others, wanting complete and utter control of the on-goings of his place. After a bit of looking around, Mick gets an offer from a private party to help fund his restaurant, giving Mick complete control of everything and more then 60% of the shares and earnings, they just want to help get Mick started as they’re a huge fan of Mick’s cooking.
It takes about three years before it gets up and running. Heatwave easily earns a solid reputation, with a loyal following, when Ray decides since he’s in Central meeting with the new owners of Star Labs, Barry Allen, and checks it out, so that he can give his review on his blog.
It’s amazing and utterly perfect and Ray can’t help but gush on to his followers how amazing everything at Heatwave is, that he can’t recommended hard enough for them to check it out.Only, Ray breaks his second rule of the food blog and types up his review right there in the restaurant!
Mick doesn’t normally do walk through’s during dinner time rush but his favorite waitress tells him he should check out a particular customer. Mick mostly does it to humor her, until he sees Ray and finds himself itching to get his hands on him, to feed him. Until of course he does a quick walk by and happens to glance down and see what Ray’s typing and then Mick finds himself floored because he knows that blog, he loves that blog! It’s one of four he follows almost religiously!
Now Mick’s faced with a dilemma, does he sit down, introduce himself to the man? Or does he go back and hide in the kitchen?
