“Wally!” Ray cried out, bounding towards the younger man. “Oh God, what did they do?”
“Ray?” Wally whispered. “Ray, you’ve gotta go - get Nate or Mick, you can’t-”
Wally cut himself off with a cough.
“Wally, we’ve gotta get you out of here.”
“These anti-Meta chains are made of silver.” Wally protested. “You’ll get hurt.”
Ray shook his head. “It doesn’t matter.”
“Ray, please.”
But Ray had already sprung into action, using his strength to yank the chain off the wall. He winced silently as the silver burnt his palms. With shaking hands he started picking the lock.
“Since when did you know how to pick locks?” Wally asked at the chains dropped to the floor.
“Mick,” Ray answered, and herded Wally out of the cell. “We need to leave. Now.”
“Okay.” Wally grabbed Ray around his waist, and-
“Wally, thank God!” Nate pulled him into a hug, feeling the dragon’s scales rippling beneath his skin. “Are you hurt? Did you lose access to your speed? Mick and Sara wouldn’t let me come with, I had to stay and watch the Waverider. How-”
“Nate.” Wally silenced the sorcerer with a quick peck. “Ray needs help too.”
“Wally, I’m fine.”
“No your not!” Wally yelled. “Those chains were made of silver, Ray. You got burnt.”
“What.”
The trio turned to see Mick stood in the doorway. His eyes glowed red and he snarled, revealing his fangs. “What happened.”
“The chains were made silver.” Wally gulped. “I’m sorry.”
“Why’re ya apologisin’?”
“Because Ray got hurt because of me,” Wally said quietly.
“Wally, no,” Nate said softly, wrapping his arms around the dragon.
“I’d do it again, Wally.” Ray kissed his forehead. “It’s not your fault.”
“Those bastards put you in chains.” Mick snarled. “Anti-Meta and silver. I’m gonna tear all o’ them to shreds.”
“Too late for that.” Nate nodded to the window.
To outside, where the facility that had kidnapped Wally was exploding.
“Good,” Mick said firmly.
“Gentleman, the rest of the team have returned to the Waverider. Captain Lance has already authorized an emergency evacuation. I suggest Mr. West and Mr. Palmer head to the medical bay.”
“Gideon, I’m- hey!”
Mick had lifted Ray over his shoulder. “Gotta treat those silver burns, Raymond. Pretty, ya got a potion for that?”
“I’m a sorcerer, Mick. I always have potions.” Nate rolled his eyes. “C’mon.”
Nate laced his fingers with Wally’s. “Let’s get both of you fixed up.”
