Steve Rogers x Tony Stark - Road Trip.

Tony isn’t really sure how he finds himself sitting here — top down in the blue convertible, speeding down the open road. This isn’t what he’d been planning to do for their honeymoon. Hadn’t been in the plan at all. 

He’d been planning and picturing them spending their guaranteed two weeks off — both from Avengers duties and SI obligations — lounging on a private beach. He’d daydreamed about getting to just watch his Steve parade around in nothing but the skimpiest speedo he could either find, or engineer himself. Or maybe, maybe, even watching him walk around in nothing at all, if he could be so lucky.

But... but what he hadn’t planned on, was to be wearing rattied old sweats and one of Steve’s own workout shirts, sitting in the passenger seat as he watched his husband sing along with the radio, at the top of his lungs. 

He feels like his heart is fit to burst out of his chest, feels like he’s going to drown in his love, as he watches the way Steve pretends to air drum against the steering wheel, getting every other word of the 80s ballad wrong but still cheerfully singing along.

Mind you, not that he was complaining about it. Well, not complaining seriously about it. 

“You’re such a dork,” Tony calls out, suddenly, lips curving into a soft, small — but loving — smile. Shifting around, he reaches over and runs his fingers along Steve’s neck, fingers playing with the hair he can reach. 

Steve turns to flash him a grin, moving to grab the wheel while using his right to reach up and tangle his fingers with Tony’s. Bringing their hands down, he moves them so he can press a kiss to the back of Tony’s hand. “I might be, Mister Stark-Rogers. But I do believe I'm your dork. The one you married in front of all our family and friends too.”  He gives a cheeky grin and adds, “And what was it you said? Oh right, no takes back now.”

Laughing, Tony pulls on their hands, and turns so he can press his own kiss — okay, maybe a series — of kisses to Steve’s hand. “Maybe so, maybe so, Mister Stark-Rogers,” he winks playfully.

“So have you thought about where our first destination should be?” Steve asks, after a moment of just enjoying the moment. He moves to lay their joined hands against the center console. “Or are you still claiming not to care where we go, as long as we’re going together?”

“It’s not a claim,” Tony grumbles, still smiling as he mock glares when Steve grins over at him. “And I don’t,” and he means it. He really couldn’t care where they went on this road trip. Not as long as he had Steve with him. He’d happily go to any and every cheese tourist attraction, to every one star rated motel, to cities he’d been to dozens and dozens of times . 

To anywhere.

He just wanted to be with Steve. So where he wanted to go, Tony would happily go as well.

James “Rhodey” Rhodes & Tony Stark - The Team Up.

“Oh, oh, Rodey-bear, light of my life, best friend of all, we have got to stop here. They’ve got the best, best pizza there I swear. Even Nat likes it! We’ve gotta stop and get some. Yeah? Yeah?” 

Is all Rhodey gets before Tony begins veering off course and decendanding down. He lets himself debate for a moment, just a moment, about letting Tony go off on his own. But turns himself, following him down. Because he remembers the last time Tony had been let do his own thing, it’d taken calling in all their hero-ed friends to track him down after three days. 

They land, a little wobbly but stay mostly upright, so Rhodey takes it as a win for them. Especially after the shit-show of the two back to back fights they’d been in since three in the morning. Or well, it’d been three in the morning when they’d left New York. 

He thinks they're back in the states, at least he’s pretty sure they are anyone. Stepping back out of his suit, he watches it close back up and turns towards Tony to ask but feels a sharp pinch in his back, causing him to let out a hiss. 

“I think we’re getting too old for this, Tones,” Rhodey groans, moving his left hand up to rub at his back, while using the other to rub at his shoulder. 

“Ha,” Tony snorts, moving slow and easy himself as he comes to stand next to him. “I think we’ve been too old, since before we even started doing this, sourpuss,” he quips, voice a touch raspy. He moves to tenderly touch it, he’s sure it’ll be black and blue by the time night falls. Reminds himself to make a mental note about seeing if he can try to add a little padding, maybe cut down on bruising.

“Excuse you,” Rhodey, sends a mock glare towards, breaking out into a grimace half way through, and moves to press his hand a little more firmly against his back. “I was in great shape when you started hero-ing without me, Tones.” As one, they begin to hubble their way from the parking spot they’d left their suits and towards the front door of the pizza parlor Tony was determined to eat at. “I think you might a've been fit enough when we were back in college,” he jokes lightly.

“Excuse you, platypus,” Tony grumbles, a touch whiney as they step up into, giving a quick glance around to see the place only had a few other customers, “I’m in the best shape of my life right now, Honey-bear.”

“Yeah, okay, Tony,” Rhodey rolls his eyes as they shuffle their way up to the counter, “And I’m Captain America.”

“Please, Rhodey, that’s my fiance, you can’t put that mental image in my head. You know how my brain is, what it’ll do to me.”

He grins, chuckles softly and moves up to the counter. He winces as he sees the teen behind it, watches the way the kid’s eyes go wide and round, move dropping open. Clearly, they would not be going unnoticed. 

Even here, wherever the hell they were.

“Yo-you’re a witcher?”

Blue eyes flick over, locking with widen, shocked golden ones.

Eyes he hasn’t seen in nearly two years.

Eyes he’s missed dearly, that he’s raged at and wept over in the dark of night. 

“Once, darling, once a long, long time ago maybe.” He keeps his voice even and his body as relaxed as possible. “But no more. Not again.” Pausing he moves his goblet, swirling the wine within as he cowardly moves his eyes down to stare at his ring laden fingers, not wanting to see the look unfolding in Geralt’s eyes. 

“Never again.”

Carol Danvers x Maria Rambeau, Domestic AU.

“Hey. What are you doing down here?”

Turning her head just enough to look back over her shoulder, Carol let her lips stretch into a small, warm grin, eyes crinkling at the corners. “Hey, love,” she murmurs softly. Twisting in her seat, she stretches out her left hand towards Maria. “What’re you doing up so late?”

Stepping forward and linking their fingers together, Maria lets Carol tug her forward until she’s standing next to her. “You weren’t in bed.” Bringing her free hand up, she runs her fingers gently through Carol’s blond locks, letting out a soft hum as she bends to press a kiss to the top of her wife’s head. “What are you doing out here?” she asks, quiet and apprehensive, as she looks at the table to see letters strewn across. “Where did you find these?”

“Monica.” Carol answers after a long moment. “She had a nightmare, asked me to make hot chocolate and sit with her until she fell back asleep,” she adds on as she lets go of Maria’s hand and turns back fully to the table. “Tripped over the box in the hall closet looking for the recipe your Gran wrote for me.” Shifting in her seat, Carol glances up to Maria before flicking her eyes back down to the open letter still sitting folded before her.

“Knocked the lid off by accident, and Mon saw my name on one of them. She, uh, she sort of got quiet and then mumbled about maybe me reading them.” Shifting again, she clears her throat before giving a small shrug. “Got about as far as just opening one up.”

“Oh.” Maria nods, staring down at the paper for a long moment, then she nods again and moves around to drop into the chair closest to her. “They are. For you, I mean. Monica was right about that, them being for you.”

“Yeah,” Carol murmurs before they fall into a strained, nervous silence.

“Why, why didn’t you read them?” Maria asks, breaking the silence after a long beat.

“Didn’t seem right to,” Carol glances over to her. “I mean,” she pauses, clearing her throat again. “You, you didn’t tell me about them, so I, uh. I wasn’t really sure if you wanted me to read them. So,” she gives her a small smile, before reaching out to run her fingers over the paper. “I’ve just been debating.” 

“Debating?”

“To either wake you up and ask about them or to pack them back up and wait for you to talk to me about them.”

“Good choices,” Maria nods before taking a quick breath, as if to gather herself before she continues on. “I wouldn’t have minded had you read them. I wasn’t keeping them or hiding them from you. After, after you disappeared, I started writing to you because I knew one day you’d be back, and I wanted to share the things you missed with you. Make it like you were there with us, even if you couldn’t have been physically.”

Nodding, Carol moves to nibble on her bottom lip, her eyes flicking between Maria’s open face and the letter still resting before her. Taking a moment, and a deep breath, Carol flashes her love — her wife — a smile, “Maybe we can read them together then? Maybe after we get Monica off to school today?”

“That’d be nice,” Maria grinned, hand sliding across the table to cover Carol’s. “How about now though, we go take a soak in the tub? Relax a little before we need to get our daughter up?”

“That’d be nice.”

Sam, the man you swear was your arch nemesis not three weeks ago, you baked him a cake?” Steve only waits long enough for Bucky to nod at him before he starts up again. “And not only did you bake Sam, your-” here he moves his hands up to do the air quotes, “a cake, but you baked him your Great-great Nana’s famous chocolate cake, the cake your mother only bakes on very special and important days.”

“Yeah. So?”
