               is there a tva-issue inspirational self-help manual that loki perhaps did not read? one filled with vile quotes of perceived depth, regurgitating its false wisdom through its members? perhaps a church of abstract time philosophy? or is mobius truly just that dreadful, thinking himself deep? no, not possible. he wears far too much beige for such a thing. the incredulous sneer on loki’s face is involuntary as he glances back at the puny little wise man, a brow lifting.

              “ ——— are you intending to begin a discussion of the impermanence of all things, or did you simply pick out interesting-sounding words and string them together? perhaps from a fortune cookie? ”

      for a moment, sherlock simply stares at the man. he hasn’t walked anywhere outside, at least not recently. nothing fresh on his shoes at all, and it’s been raining-- even taking a cab to his front door would leave something. he purses his lips for a moment as he thinks it over, eventually turning his gaze up to meet the man’s.  ❝ what is that? that device in your pocket. ❞

   ❝ -- what? ❞ Steve pauses, eyeing the strange doorway the man had just stepped out of, before he looks passed that at the building that’s just had a rather large robot slam straight through it.  ❝ why the hell would i not go and stop that? ❞ he adjusts his grip on his shield, something in his jaw clenching as he eyes the stranger. it’s clear he’s about ready to go through him if he needs to.

“Yeah, you look so fine with the pale, sweaty face and bloodied thigh.” Sylvie returned sarcastically as she knelt besides him. It didn’t take her too long to do a cursory inspection of the wound and determine how bad it was. He was obviously in a lot of pain but the wound itself wasn’t fatal. She shook her head like he’d told a good joke. 

“If I leave you here, finding Loki would be the last thing I’d want to do.” She commented wryly. She could only imagine how angry Loki would be that she just left him there, even if Mobius suggested it. “Let me take a look.”

In the time that he had been working with SHIELD, Phil Coulson had seen a great many strange and interesting things. Sometimes, he considered writing up a Buzzfeed style listacle of the Top Ten Strangest Things. 

So when an orange door opened up in his office and a group of soldiers in black and a man in a brown suit stepped through, the only reaction he had was an arched brow. After all, he had survived a spear through the heart delivered by the Norse God of mischief. This sight didn’t even rank on the list.

“Usually I would ask that all visitors be cleared through my secretary, but I have a feeling that you’re part of an organization that plays by its own rules.”
