She scoffed when he mentioned that she smelt of Asgardian magic. "That's funny, I was raised there. Haven't been there in years though." She explained as she looked to the device in her hands. That was right, she supposed. Sylvie looked around the room, trying to decipher any sort of meaning in the bric-a-brac that littered every surfaces including the floor.
The blonde turned when she felt someone behind her, watching the man approach. He looked as tired as she felt, but she probably didn't look like a princess right now either. "A place beyond time? I just came from there." She quipped softly. "Well, whatever brought me here, I don't mean any harm or offence." She told him.
A bitter laugh rose in her throat when he asked whether he knew her. "I...in a way, probably." She admitted. "On some branches of the time, I am the being known most commonly as Loki. But you can call me Sylvie." She explained.
He cocked his head to the side at her response, curiosity written all over his sallow face. “I’m sure the veins of the multiverse have countless dead ends. Dried up synapses, still attempting to fire, but with no where to go-“ His quiet, dry musing cut short at that name, the entire conjured construct of a building flickering around them for a moment, a shadow flashing across his face, and as it did, there were too many eyes, too much teeth, a twist of horn- but gone again in a blink.
“Loki, huh?” His voice remained congenial, but there was easily something lurking underneath edged in bitterness. “That explains that… scent. I don’t mean a literal smell, I mean in the magical- don’t worry about it. Well, Sylvie. You can call me Strange. Most people do. Tea? Something stronger? I don’t… have visitors often, as I mentioned. Make yourself comfortable.”
He certainly had questions and concerns, but that could wait until he assessed the situation. He was, if anything, patient. Uatu would have said something if there was a problem. “Where were you heading, then? Or was it simply… universe-roulette?”
"I'm sure you're right." She agreed when he commented that the multiverse probably had plenty of spots like this one. "But this one seems as good as any to stop by." She commented as she pocketed the Temp Pad. She blinked as the building flickered and the man's face changed. She tried to swallow any nervousness.
She noticed how he reacted to the name. "Trust me, I'm unique amongst variants. I can't stand the Lokis." She assured him as she accepted his offer of hospitality. "Something stronger definitely seems more appropriate for the day that I've had." She told him.
"Heading? Nowhere for now." She admittedly. "I just needed to not be where I was and quickly." She explained.

"Well, I've never heard of you. I'm a Goddess, who's lived in thousands of different points of time and on hundreds of planets and I've never heard of you." She pointed out. Sylvie paused when he told her that his people were all dead, swallowing thickly. She hadn't expected him to say that and now she felt, well, bad. "I'm....sorry to hear that. That's awful." She muttered.
"Yup." She replied, popping the 'p' as she closed the door and walked up the ramp into the box proper. It was some sort of spaceship, she figured. "It's roomier than you think it's going to be."

𝙏he Doctor was looking at her, it wasn't the first time that happened. But yet people always soon enough knew. ❝ There was a war... a big one... bigger than any war this universe could face, against my most dangerous enemy and one who would have taken the entire universe had I not stopped the war..., The Daleks would have taken the entire universe until it was nothing left but them. ❞ He still felt guilty about his choice. He still wondered if he had made the right one. But yet the Daleks had still found a way out. They had still survived. But it had stopped the war. But the Daleks always looked for new ways to get what they wanted. But he would stop them time and time again.

"This is a war for the concept of free will, that's pretty big. Outside of the concept of time and space." She reminded him when he insisted that he'd been in a war bigger than him. Sylvie had never heard of daleks or whatever, but they seemed pretty bad. She sheathed her sword and continued to walk around the console, examining things as she went.
"Dimensional engineering." She concluded as she looked around. "Back on my home world, we'd call this magic. Witches hide entire villages in cupboards."

𝙇oki just groaned when he heard somebody entire the room, the light flooded in as soon as they did and he groaned and pulled the covers over his head. His eyes hurt, his head hurt and he had been keeping his room dark on purpose. Not only was he exhausted but he had a damn migraine ontop of it. He growled when the other went to reach for the curtains. ❝ Leave it! ❞ he snapped. He was cranky and intolerant. He did tend to be on the moody side when unwell. Couldn't they see he felt like shit.

"I would ask if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but that would require you to have woken." Sylvie commented as she pushed the curtains open and unlatched the window to let some fresh air over. She turned around and Loki had brought the covers over his head. "I brought you some ginger tea, good for headaches."
Sylvie nodded again, reassuring both her brother and herself before she moved to grip the handle on her side. She watched as blue began along her skin, like Loki had described. The warmth of the vault seemed to burn as the affliction passed up past her elbow and along her shoulder. She could feel it spreading along her skin under her clothes, turning her cold.
She was almost afraid to look at her brother but she did anyways, seeing how it had spread to his face, turning his eyes red. She finally had seen enough and took her hand away, bringing it up to her mouth to cover her horrified gasp. She didn't let go of Loki's hand as she stepped back from the casket.
Sylvie took a long deep breath to steady herself. "Loki..." She began before stopping, unsure what it was that she wanted to say. She took another long breath, just to hide how affected she was but whatever had happened. "One of these skins is our true skin, the question is which." She finally said.
"You know which." He had tried his best not to glance over at her. It was bad enough having the memory of the disfigured hand at the end of his arm burnt into his mind without having his sister's face permanently marred in his memory. Even so, he had caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of his eye, her face a reflection of his own.
He tore himself away from both the casket and her hand, taking refugee on the edge of the railing that lined the walkway. Elbows propped on his knees, he gripped tight to his own hands in a worthless attempt to stop them shaking. "Perhaps we are cursed?" his voice was thin, even that suggestion seeming implausible. He knew that he and Sylvie had been born in the midst of the war with Jotunheim, welcomed into the family on the same night that Odin had returned from battle. In the chaos of war, how simple would it have been to smuggle to infants back to Asgard. But why? What purpose had there been to such deceit?
"Some magic cast over us that we are so hideously transformed in the presence of Frost Giant sorcery. We have always had a talent of changing our forms. The king of the Frost Giants - would it not have been their manner of brutality for him to curse two children of Asgard for their defeat?"
"No, I don't." Sylvie told her brother as he walked away from the casket and towards the railing. As much as she didn't want to consider the possibility that her and her brother were not of Asgard, it would be a foolish notion not to. Sylvie prided herself on being smart, clever in her own quiet way unlike her brothers.
She stepped towards her twin and sat beside him. She sighed softly when he suggested a curse had been laid on them. "To what end?" She asked in a defeated voice, shaking her head. "If they wanted us to be outcast, they would have cursed us to always look that way. They are not so subtle in their revenges." She reminded him.
"Perhaps it's our magic reacting with the casket somehow..." She murmured to herself, glancing back over at it.
"We need to talk to Mother." She concluded. It had been their solution to most things since they had been old enough to speak. Even though she was most likely distraught by the news of her eldest child's banishment, she would at least have time for their questions. "She'll tell us the truth of it."

Torunn smiles back, as she allows Sylvie to touch her hair, she was one of the few he allowed to do so. "It's surprisingly not that bad." Though the young goddess would much prefer to spend more time with her auntie's and female friends, when they are all not busy. "Where did you go this time?"
"Not that bad, listen to you." Sylvie clucked affectionately as she took her niece in. It seemed every time she went away and came back, Torunn had grown again. "Oh, here there and everywhere, spreading mischief wherever I went."

"I'm your only niece auntie!" Torunn corrects Sylvie with a grin and hugs the older blonde back, just as tightly. "I've missed you. Did you miss me?"
“That means you’re definitely my favourite.” She assured her niece as she brushed her hair from her face with a smile. “Oh, I missed you so much. Thinking of you here, surrounding by all these boys, it broke my heart.” She told her.

Sylvie slid the box along the table and tapped the top. "Your favourite, sorry it's not green. I'm informed it's not supposed to look radioactive." She told him as she sat down opposite him. "It's an apology pie." She added.
eyes flickered down to the box that sylvie offered towards him, a brief look of confusion before she explained that it was an apology pie... and given by the comments about it being his favourite and apologising that it wasn't green... key-lime...
but... for now, he had something else to focus on other than the pie. even if he did love himself some key-lime pie. he knew what she was apologising for but... she didn't need to do this. and part of him couldn't help but wonder if she'd been right in what she'd said anyway... no one had corrected her, loki hadn't. not to his knowledge at least.
" maybe what you said was right. " he offered, a light shrug of his shoulders.
Sylvie pulled out a chair with her foot around the leg and slipped into it as she watched him looking at the pie. She'd got it from a local bakery on her timeline, who claimed to make a 107 year old recipe from someone's grandmother. "The way I said it was rude and thoughtless, and I'm sorry." She told him. Sylvie had believed the essence of what she'd said, but her beliefs didn't justify being hurtful or talking over Mobius' own beliefs.
"I'm still working on this whole...social interaction thing. You know, friends..." She explained, trying to hide her discomfort at the idea that Mobius might not consider them friends.
