Eirene, the Goddess of peace by Egisto Sani Via Flickr: The Athenians, after a naval victory over the Spartans in 375 BC, estabilished a cult for Eirene, the goddess of peace. The sculptor of the original bronze sculpture wa Cephisodotus, father of the famous sculptor Praxiteles. Eirene carres a child in her left harm: Plutus, the god of plenty, a son of Demeter, the goddess of agriculture. Roman marble copy from a Greek bronze sculpture.
