Throwback to my first TEDx appearance at the TEDxAccra 2016 (The first of my many TEDx appearances over the years!)

The theme for that year was, “Re-Think”. This experience caused me to rethink my practice as an artist exploring the medium of spoken word and sounds, an essential element in capturing narratives and rethinking the African Narrative.

Some years ago, I thought being an artist meant dealing with traditional mediums and exploring traditional art methods hand and eye based training we received while growing up. Then I started Spoken Word professionally in 2014. Three years ago I enrolled at the college of art and build environment of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to pursue a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). Gradually my interpretation and understating of art and its corridors are shifting. Featuring for the first time in a group exhibition, I’ll be partaking as “a fine artist exploring the medium of Spoken Word and poetry.
