hey i just saw that ask you left gooseworx and it's rad you're supporting her (i do too!) but for future reference it's probably not a good idea to tell creators "hey a lot of people hate this thing you're doing- not me though!". gooseworx has been open about the stress the fandom has brought her and i don't think bringing fandom controversy (that she's likely already well aware of) to her attention is going to do anything other than stress her out in some way.
I've been sitting for a while and occasionally thinking about this ask after I read it.
I think you're probably right. As well intentioned as it was in a way, it might not have had the wanted effect.
I guess my main intent was to just say that not everyone gets what the show was about, so some criticism can probably be ignored, no matter how angry people get over it. Some of the (imo) valid points she's already pointed out that she did learn to do better in the future (asking for a writer's room for example, to better suss out what is/isn't as important and how it can be brought across better to the audience).
Which ig is why I think people nagging and nitpicking every little thing is kinda useless. In the end, she did tell the story she wanted and it means a lot to a lot of people. A majority even, I'd say. It was never intended to be about all the lore, but about the characters, their development and messages of the show. And she has also already said that she should have done things a little differently when it comes to certain characters. Overall I think it wouldn't have changed much of the show and the outcome as well as reception, though. I feel like people complain about everything nowadays, without really considering what is/isn't possible and that you can't always think of the perfect thing to do until much later on, even if you had more time/resources available.
But yeah, I guess bringing up what would inevitably happen might not have been the best move of me, or I should have thought of a more supportive/positive way to formulate it. Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. Thanks anyway for not being rude in my asks like that other guy lol. Appreciate it.
