flocking 12/6/24 -- Dromaeosaurus, Cetiosaurus, Ceratosuchops, Renenutet
My 25 years of palaeoart chronology…
From 2023, here's my cover art for the third edition of DINOSAURS, HOW THEY LIVED AND SURVIVED, the official dinosaur book from the Natural History Museum, London, by Naish and Barrett.
I like spinosaurids, but I want them to be feathered. Maybe it's not scientific, but just look how cute he is! I created a character for myself, this is ceratosuchops, his name is Ravio. I decided to draw the chibi format, it's so relaxing. You can send me your dinosaur characters and I can make you a request in the form of a chibi baby like this in my free time!
#Paleostream 7/12/2024
here's today's #Paleostream sketches!!! today we drew Dromaeosaurus, Ceratosuchops, Cetiosaurus, and Renenutet enmerwer (i drew mine being eaten by a Tutcetus)
Portrait of the spinosaurid Riparovenator milnerae from the Early Cretaceous of England. The remains of this theropod were found on the Isle of Wight and were initially attributed to Baryonyx. These include fragments of the skull and a series of tail vertebrae. In 2021, they were assigned to a new genus based on a combination of features of the skull bones. Like other dinosaurs from the Baryonychinae subfamily, it had a long and narrow snout, although not as specialized as that of Spinosaurus. A related Ceratosuchops from the Isle of Wight was described in the same publication. If these dinosaurs lived at the same time, they may have hunted at different times of the day or preferred different hunting grounds, but it is also possible that they were not contemporaries.
In this work, I tried to paint with color on a black base. It was a pretty unusual experience. :)
Adobe Photoshop, 2025.
Ceratosuchops Silhouette
Alright this is the last drawing from the story I'm working on that I'll post here for a bit, and it's by far the most simple, could be a good phone background if you want.
Spinosaurs by Anthony J. Hutchings: Riparovenator and Ceratosuchops, Riparovenator, Ceratosuchops and his brain, White Rock spinosaurid, Irritator challengeri, Irritator chasing pterosaur.
