Ceres Aimee Shepard. (Vanguard | Renegon | Earthborn | Ruthless)
Well, I did what I set out to do, I ended up with a full renegade bar and the council’s gone. It was fun, honestly I didn’t expect to have as much flexibility as I did (which i fear will be kind of taken from me by next game), and I like this side of ME1. I didn’t have to be a xenophobe towards my alien crewmates either, which I’m glad about. But also got to flex a little of that spectre authority, which was interesting.
What did get me was the last scene with Udina and Anderson. I was not expecting him to propose a human council or human dominance, even with Shepard arguing against him not to. He was pretty adamant about it too, which if I were playing this standalone without knowing a second game were coming, I’d presume that was literally how it was going to be. He accepted Ceres recommending Anderson for chairman too with little complaint, which makes me really curious about how that’ll work in 2.
It’s just...haunting. They’re the only ones there in that room and currently they’re the ones with the most political pull at the moment. And it’s completely different from the scene if you saved the council, with both Anderson and Udina understanding they’re going to war with the Reapers unlike their predecessors. Just the framing of the scene too, with one man staring down Anderson and Shepard instead of three people thanking them profusely for their lives. It’s darker than the alternative scene and they’re still in the Council chambers, not on the Presidium.
I expected it to be twisted with this big of a decision flipped on its head but man if I wasn’t internally going ‘whoa buddy, let’s slow down this power trip’
26 and 27 for whichever Shepards you like 😘
another shepard ask meme.
26. How does your Shepard like to spend time with their LI?
Ceres prefers to pull Liara away from work for a few hours and take her out for a drive. These days she doesn't have to hotwire a car, and where doesn't matter, the destination is rarely predetermined, but they always somehow end up somewhere with a view. Sometimes it's best to get away to somewhere with little distraction and something to talk about. She listens to Liara vent, and vice versa. Sometimes Ceres just skips that part and peppers her girlfriend with compliments and kisses. Ceres Shepard is not soft, but she does make exceptions for some people.
27. Who is your Shepard’s best friend?
Ceres and Joker get along surprisingly well. Surprisingly because no one quite expected the prickly pilot to get along as well as he did with the typically quiet and stiff Commander. Still, he was with her every step of the way without question, and they relate on quite a few things. He hasn't failed yet at making her at least smile when he tries, and she's rather happy she hasn't scared him off yet.
playing kodelyn and ceres nearly back to back is really interesting. now that i know who ceres even is, i think the main difference there is that the former never really got the reassurance that she ever was enough and the latter always knew her worth (and maybe had a bit of an ego because of it).
‘ceres no’ ‘ceres yes’
New Shepard you say? 👀💕
Yes!!
I got the idea while I was rolling through Horizon and went ‘what if I made yet another colonist Shepard’, which balances out backgrounds to 3 spacers, 3 colonists and 2 earthborn kiddos. She roughly looks like this (I’ll have to play in Metahuman later), gray eyes, red hair, and probably just as pale as Lily, give or take. And freckles, just about 5′4″. Kinda a beefcake.
Her name is Cere (pronounced seer) Aimee Shepard. I’m thinking renegon, war hero background. Vanguard? Vanguards are always fun. A Bi/Ace powerhouse, maybe a Jackmance, I’ve always liked Jack. I think they’d be fun together. She likes the rough and tumble life she’s living, but the sarcasm is more of a front for the fact she genuinely doesn’t know how to get all that close to other people.
She has a living cousin, Iris, who she’s been raising by herself since the raid. They’re pretty sweet, and have a taste for caramel, just like their older cousin.
