Team Sulfotep! Left to right, they are: Empress Velo XXVII, Zem Sulfotep, Phosphor, and Gaaro. Zem is the leader, Velo is the character you unlock if you’re good at the game (just like her main universe counterpart!)
Sulfotep (he likes being referred to by only his last name) is an infamous racer with aspirations of interplanetary conquest. He is very money-motivated, as any championships he wins net him new property which he can promptly drain for all the resources they have. He’s quite cutthroat and coldhearted, having little regard for others in general. He only listens to Velo because he knows she’s more influential and powerful than him.
Phosphor (often shortened to just Phos) is something of a contract worker for Sulfotep. He races for him and represents the team, he gets paid handsomely for it. He’s not particularly passionate about his work with Sulfotep, but it pays the bills. Their relationship is entirely transactional and Phos will likely leave the team if given a better paying gig. He and Gaaro can bond over being stuck with Sulfotep for the time being. Though, they don’t have much in common other than a fondness for energy drinks, of all things...
