hii! sorry to bother you, but i was wondering since i will be attending ax this year i had questions regarding waiting in line for autographs and seeing a panel since you were able to see junichi suwabe-san in 2016, as a first timer what do i need to know, and with autograph tickets how much are they if they cost anything?
Hi Angela, congrats on making it to AX this year! My sister and I had planned to, but RL got super busy. I’m guessing you’re asking for advice about autographs and not AX in general (there are plenty of guides online, including the AX survival guide).
The rules for AX-sponsored autographs are fairly straightforward.
Ticket distribution is at 8am. There is one line for all autograph sessions.
Each autograph session has 75 Priority and 25 Standby tickets per day.
Priority ticket holders are guaranteed an autograph, Standby are not. Suwabe honored the Standby tickets his year, Miyu did not.
In 2016, we got in line at 4am for Suwabe and got the last two Priority.
In 2017, we arrived at 3am for Miyu and got Standby.
This year, we were planning to bring bedrolls and blankets for the line.
Panels are even simpler. We just lined up 3-4 hours before each one started. There will usually be people already waiting.
This year, Yamashita Daiki (Shion from UtaPri) and Kaji Yuki are official AX guests. Maeno (Camus from UtaPri) is not, so I’d highly recommend looking up how Aniplex will do his autograph session(s, if any).
Good luck and have fun! If there’s anything else I can answer, let me know. ^^
