The Arrival (open prompt)

Finally! After the long bus ride, she had arrived at the school she would attend for the next four years. She wasn’t sure if she was more relieved to get off the bus after a five hour ride, or to escape the odd looks she was receiving from the other passengers. She decided that she hated the looks the most. People should learn to mind their own damn business. Had they never seen an amputee before?

Shaking her head to clear those possible anxiety-inducing thoughts, she gathered her bags and walked up to the gates of the academy. It was bigger than the brochure implied, but that didn’t really faze the blonde. A few students milled around the campus as she took everything in, keeping a calm and collected expression. Nobody was going to know anything about her unless she explicitly told them. That was the only way she knew how to keep her anxiety in check.

Ignoring her fellow classmates, Vriska followed the map she had received in the mail to the dorm buildings. She already had a key for her room, so it was just a matter of finding her room. Her roommate was apparently a girl named Meulin, though the freshman hoped she would have a day of peace before meeting her.
