9. Les Éparges - November 6th 2018. On sunday morning we got a call from the presidential staff : the President was paying a tribute to the #soldiers who died in the First World War and he had decided to pick one among them... my great great uncle, Robert Porchon, who died in 1915 and was made famous by the french writer #MauriceGenevoix, who wrote all about him in his book #Ceuxde14 It was an incredible experience to live. The President shook our hands, we got to meet Maurice Genevoix's family, and my dad went with the President to put a flower on my ancestor's tomb. We finished the trip by visiting several war sites in the area of #Verdun.
